Yea I'm wanting to do that mod where you can start the Jeep without having to use the clutch. There's plenty of write-ups on how to do it, just haven't got around to it.

no duh

NC I would let it charge. your best bet would be to look at your dash when you put your key in and see where the battery amp gauge goes to. if it is right in the middle it should be starting, so it isnt the battery. if it is anywhere to the left it more than likely is your battery and it needs charged. if it does not go up at all then you probably have lost connection at some point.

Ah ha. It might be the battery then. When the dash lights come on, the battery charge gauge reads to the left. It is at the middle line between the halfway line and the end (1/4 of the way). Thanks for bringing that up! I'll charge it and see what happens. Thanks again guys!

yep, charge it. had to do it with mine and that gets it done. you might need a new battery or you might be able to get by if you take it for a drive to charge it up. dont run your fogs or anything you dont need for a lil while. u might want to get the battery checked to, esp if it does it again.

Yea I'm probably just going to get a new battery in a few days. I've only had the Jeep for about 2 months and I don't know how old this battery is. I'll let ya know tomorrow if charging the battery worked.

Haha wish I could. It's a pretty long drive from where I live though. If my Jeep didn't desperately need a clutch, I could possibly be able to. I could come over there and tear up the beaches with ya.

Don't know if you've been told this but if you but a fuse in the spot for the automatic transmission (think it's the 20a one.. Check in the manual), it should start without the clutch.. Give it a whirl and let me know

My battery didn't seem horribly corroded when mine began having trouble starting, but the corrosion has managed to eat up into my ignition and radio wires...I've been fighting that lately. Lol

Yea I've heard that. I might give it a try if I have some spare time and a spare fuse. And zet, I'm soo jealous right now. I love the beach.

Blacked out all the chrome stuff that the PO put on it (gross), rattle canned a bunch of stuff, got the cb and 4.5' antenna, Cragar Soft 8's, tons of stickers, it's got 1 body lift, uh I had some homemade grab handles but they broke, and besides taking useless stuff off that's about it.

I need moooney
