Wow this thread has really taken off. Anyways..I got myself a jeep! It's a 1980 cj5 that is getting completely redone. It's currently at the shop getting painted and line-x'd. Will post some pictures of the progress soon.

Lol, I'm tired from today. I drove like all day on the beach and was having a ton of fun. Splashed lots of salt water in the area. Gotta spray off my body and underneath in the morning. I get to vacuum the interior (wash my seat covers too...) and all that when I get home. Which is fine. The girlfriend had been wanting to clean out my Jeep anyway lol.

Lol not really. She would get in and complain about it being dirty. She said she wanted to clean it for me, I never asked her to. We have fun doing random stuff like that together anyway so It'll be fun to do and my Jeep gets clean!

I love washing it but not really cleaning out the inside, but after all the sand and salt water (I drove through the waves, all 4 tires in, and splashed it all over the place...) So I need to. The sand will drive me crazy... I get to bond with my Jeep and a Vacuum Cleaner. Woo.

Oh yeah, but luckily I got some of Inferno Girls "Dirty Mudder" Seat Covers... So I'll take those off and wash them. Then... I may pull my carpet it out so I can get ALL of the sand. On the carpet and in the tub. I need to Bed Line it, but that'll be sometime later in the Summer. So much sand... Let me see if I have a good picture of it all sandy...

Alright. Check this out. Just graduated high school. Bought a salvaged 2005 LJ back in march. She was in a roll over and had some pretty bad cosmetic damage. I built her up. Shes got a 2" BB and a 2" BL and rollin' on 33x12.5 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs. Check out my build thread if you want all the details. Oh yeah, and im a girl.

I'm envious of all you guys with LJs. I'd LOVE one. As for being a girl, well now we have two in here. How much did it cost initially? I graduated as well and may try to go that route to start up on my rail rig (I'd love a rubi but I suppose that doesn't matter, stock lockers are nice...)

Well i got her for $6,200 which, if you know enough about jeeps, is a steal. From March to now, ive probably worked an illegal amount of hours trying to pay for everything. Shes now racked up to abouuut $10,000. I also sold my old YJ for $5,000. I loved my YJ, but she wasn't gonna make if on the long hauls to and from my college this coming year. But, my grandparents bought her so i can still see her.

I love my LJ. The longer back end is sweet. But also... living in Washington, there is a lot of tree weaving on the trails, and sometimes she doesnt make it..

I wouldn't buy a Rubi if i were you. Yeah, they have stock lockers, but honestly, if your gonna go further into crawling, you'll eventually have to switch em out for better ones. Just an opinion.

Hers my ole YJ and my LJ:

Well, I've thought of that as well, but the stock lockers would give me a little extra right off the bat before I move onto bigger axles and such. I love all Jeeps, but I prefer TJs/LJs over YJs... They're nice but just not the same.

This is true...

I love the original YJs, NOT the YJ Renegade. They're the most versitile... And I like the leafs vs. coils. Makes it way easier and cheaper to lift it, and wheeling is so much nicer... so much more flexing room. But i have to say, Jeep Commandos are my absolute favorite. A nice, built, one is gorgeous. Plus, thats what the LJs are based off of.

True true, I really like CJ-7s... I want to find one and restore it up, I almost had my hands on one but that didn't work out so I'll wait on that one. Besides, right now my dad and I are restoring an old Thunderbird. We're a bit busy with that and the two jeeps we have now. We are lifting his soon (throwing some Rubi coils in with a 2" BB) and my bumper and winch.

Nice, my TJ was my dad's first Wrangler, but before then he was military and taught people how to drive the Humvees and was a lead driver for convoys in Iraq. So he's got the offroading down...
