So a couple of months ago I hit this lady at a red light. The cops came out and gave a ticket for following too closely and isent me on my way. Well a couple days later when taking care of insurance junk I discovered my coverage had canceled due to lack of payment (my bad). Now one of my friends, (who is a cop), told me that I am likely to get a driving without insurance ticket when I go to court. Can anyone tell me how much this is gonna cost me?
Dont know how much it would cost...depending on your court system over there.
BUT...if you paid your insurance once you realized it was cancelled. You may be able to weasel your way out of the ticket (if they even give you one) if you bring proof of payment and proof of up to date insurance since then.
If you haven't received the no insurance ticket yet and show up with proof of insurance I don't think you will have a problem. I think if there is an issue with insurance and her claim then it would be a civil matter. Just my opinion, $0.05 cents please.
