I went to Wally yesterday, the camping isle was picked clean. I go to a small town gas station, 1 two sided pump, and saw 6 people fill little cans in the 5 min I was there. We live some 200 miles or so from the coast. They are saying the snow storm in WV is gonna hit us at the same time (but not be snow) . We'll see.

Yeah, I got the Camaro all packed (Jeep's in the body shop - some daffy lady smashed over a median, through a tree, and into it in a parking lot last week...great timing) so I guess I'll be sliding around all the roads around here on drag radials for the next few days. Luckily I thought to grab all my gear out of the Jeep so I've got my First Aid Kit, Shovel, Flashlights, Knives, Paracord, etc...in case all hell breaks loose.

I keep seeing a clip on the weather network with a yellow jeep driving through the background, looks like a jeep commercial

Mirlo Beach (Roadanthe, NC) There are supposed to be dunes there, and normally you can not see the ocean from that point of view..as you can tell, you can see it clearly. God Help everyone in this storm's path (including me)

We just lost power in Northern VA. I can see our neighbors on the other street still have theirs, or maybe they went for the generator already.

Woohoo, here we go!

Not really Sandy, but the pressure between her and the other storm over WV is giving us a whoopin. I can hear the wind coming over the ridge from about 8 miles away inside my house.
Here are some pics from work, about 8 miles south of Shenandoah Nat Park, on the Blue Ridge Pkwy, at about 4:30 today. It still hasn't stopped; to the contrary, actually. 40+mph winds and heavy, wet snow. Very limited visibility. Work should be 4-6", SNP is supposed to get 6-12", mtns in the patomac 18-24".

This is a high $$$ view from 2k ft above the valley...

Attachment 173439

Another overlook to the left...

Attachment 173440

All taken at about 3600ft.

Well I'm in OBX and it's perrty rough washed alot of dunes out we have three houses that will prob be a total loss. Found a logger head turtle washed 150yards inland over what was a twenty foot high dune which now looks like a cliff it's wash away so much. Didn't hurt our house too bad alot of rain and howling winds but I pulled my skiff and airboat out of the water before it hit when Irene came threw it sank both with the rains bilges couldn't keep up. Bad think is looks like we will be cut off from main land for a bit till they get the roads fixed.

We got freaking creamed last night at the Jersey Shore. Went out this morning and only the Jeep started after taking on some water. Honda and Toyota were a no go.
