Exclamation I am never buying Honda. Ever.

After being jerked around by Coggin Honda I am never going to buy Honda ever ever ever. After 3 trips for dealer service they
Sprayed armour all on my engine
Replaced a pin in my rear windshield wiper
Swapped my spare with a correct sized tire

Not filled my fluids
Ignored the nail in my tire after promising to plug it
Put on a unbalanced tire
Cross threaded my bolts on both rear tires
And lied about everything!
So I'm sitting in a Ford service bay waiting room. I've been at this for 6 hours I am so frusterated. I'm glad that the Honda guy is paying for all of this. And the spare tire they gave me was an out of round tire so the ride to the ford place was horrible.
My
Jeep won the war, your Honda mowed my grass.

I have been a Honda guy for a long time, I have owned 5 so far. I had an '88 Prelude Si, a '90 Prelude Si 4ws, A 2000 Civic Si, an '04 V6 6 Speed Accord Coupe and an '07 Civic Si. None of these cars have ever given me a bit of trouble until I bought my '07 Si.

The leather peeled off the wheel and had to be replaced, it had suspension clunks, and the most annoying issue, it went back to the dealer 11 times for 3rd gear problems that started at 800 miles.

They changed to a newer updated fluid with no results, they tried a bunch of different things with no results, they rebuilt the transmission with updated parts according to one of their TSB's and I not only had the same problem with it not going into 3rd gear/popping out of 3rd gear/grinding 3rd gear but after the rebuild it started doing it in 3rd and 4th gear. I opened a complaint with Honda and dealt with the most unhelpful and rude woman I have ever had to deal with who basically told me she never had any of these problems with hers and insinuated I must be lying since she never had an issue.

After getting fed up with this the last straw was when it would not get in the driveway through the snow after it was plowed. I got stuck 3 times in 2 days and had to be puched out in less than 1 inch of snow. It was by far the worst car I have ever owned for getting through any kind of snow. I got rid of it and bought my black '06 LJ. Gas mileage is nowhere near the 32 I was getting in the Civic but at least I can get where I am going without it falling apart.

Ive owned many Hondas in the past, got nothing bad to say about em. I couldnt kill them. 330k miles on an 86 Accord hatch back, turned to a field car, still couldnt blow it up.

Dang dude, you've had several Hondas.

You've been pretty lucky considering the 07 Si is the only one that gave you problems.

I'm more of a Toyota guy for compact cars but I must say, the 07 Si is pretty nice and the hp on that car is quite impressive; 200 hp out of 4 banger; NICE!

I heard that Honda trannies have been getting crappier and crappier. My other buddy has the same story; He had an old Civic and Integra both pushing close to 400k miles.

He said the new Hondas, however, aren't as durable.

What about an s2000? The engines alone in those things are amazing.

I used to work at a Honda motorcycle dealership in sales; it was the first "Powerhouse" dealership in America and the owner also owned the Honda car dealership next door. Any Honda product at all; one-stop shopping.
When tsb's or problems came up, we were given instructions on what to officially say, whether it was true or not. Wasn't often true. We were even coached on effective methods on how to lie.
I didn't last long there.
Car dealerships are ponderous entities.

It has the same block as the 4cyl Accord just a different top end and cam. The clutch really sucks on them in my opinion. They are way too stiff. If you want a screaming car from Honda go for the Accord V6 with the 6 speed manual.

I sold Hondas for the last year, but give me a jeep in the summer without the top and doors anyday.

Agreed... They also are lacking torque in a pretty major way.

You can mod anything but in the end just remember one thing...

My lug nuts require more torque than what most Hondas can make.

If my '06 Scion tC would have had 40 more HP, an extra gear in the tranny and gotten more than 26 MPG (the Civic got 36 when driven reasonably from Michigan to NY across Canada) I never would have traded it in. Only problems I ever had with that was cheap paint that would scratch if you breathed on it the wrong way. Mechanically it was flawless. I almost considered another one before I decided to buy another Wrangler.......then I got the Civic stuck 3 times on less than an inch of snow and had to be pushed out. I decided I could live with crappy gas mileage for the open air summer fun and the go anywhere capability. The fact that the LJ lowered my insurance premiums by $400 didn't hurt either.

The Honda is a most reliable platform in it's class. We have had a couple. One is standing up to my 20 yr old niece's driving (or lack there of) abilities).

Nothing but good things to say from me.
