title says it all. i finally got to sick and tired of not having a jeep, i started looking on line last night, and found the perfect one. i knew i wanted to go ahead and go back to my roots and get another YJ. well, i found a 1993 YJ with a 4.0, 5spd, black soft top, 33 inch BFG A/Ts that are pretty much brand new, and i think a 3.5 inch suspension lift and a half inch body lift. or maybe just a 4 inch susp lift. either way, i LOVE it. i like it even more then i did my rubicon. YJs are just more my cup of tea. its got a few small things here and there i need to fix, like a leaky exhaust, a small rust hole on the front left fender, and some kind of rattle that i hear on the outside of the engine when i turn it off and it may need a new power steering belt bc it squeaks when i start it up. but all easy fixes for the most part...
i already have plans for it. of course i am going to mount the winch to it, first thing since i already have it. then im going to get a swing away spare tires carrier with a matching spare bc its only got the stock spare for now. then ill regear it, maybe throw a locker or 2 in it when i regear it, and i want to get rid of those chrome wheels and get some black cragar soft 8 rims and thats really all i have planned as of now
heres the pics from the dealers website. it was too dark when i got home to take a pic. but these are good ones anyway
i like the YJ too...i would kill to have my buddies YJ with LT1...there is nothing like driving that jeep with the doors off and the UBER SWEET V8 rumble (plus just knowing the power is there ). i also love the dash and interior.
Great looking Jeep! Keep us posted as you do your mods.........
thanx again guys. and i will definitely keep you all posted. i did find a couple things im going to have to work on and fix fairly quickly. the worst thing, is my drivers side floor is completely rusted thru ..but, who ever had it before more screwed a plate to it so i have a floor, but when you get under and look, you can see a nice sized hole. so i am going to buy a new panel out of quadratec and weld that in there.
and the next worst thing is the rear tailgate. looks like the last fellow backed it into something bc the tail gate is actually cracked all the way thru at the top. so, ill buy a new one out of quadratec, paint it with the color i can find that best matches the jeep, then i will have the wing out spare tire carrier and 33 inch spare to throw on after i get the tail gate fixed, so even if the color doesnt match 100%, the 33 inch spare will cover it up pretty well. i may be able to do all that next month...or atleast over the next couple months
