I may have a really good new job!

i dont like counting my chickens before the eggs hatch, but its looking very good.

a short while back i decided i wanted to drive a Semi. but the only thing i wasnt going to like was not being home every night even tho i have no strings at home. well, one of my best friends, wifes grandpas, has been driving since 1972, and right now is driving for a company called rush delivery out of dayton. He just bought another van, a Ford E-250 cargo can, and was looking for a driver and told my friend about it. he told him ive been wanting to find a driving job of some kind, so my friend got me in touch with A.C. and heres whats happening

after talking to AC about it for a while, he told me that what he is going to do, is as long as i get the job, he is going to just sign the van over to me, and for me to just pay him what he has in it over what ever amount of time. so, im going to be running my own driving business!

he went with me down to Rush to talk to some people since he knows them well, and i filled out an application. the only problem we could see happening is their drivers have to be 23. Im only 22 but will be 23 in March...so she said they can probably have that waived...and she told me if she did NOT call me it was a good thing. and its been a few days with nothing from her, so im just trying to get ahold of her today about it.

AC was telling me how much ill be making, and granted i have to pay for my own gas, but it is tax deductable, he said on a slow week, ill make over 1000 bucks, and on a normal week, around 1400-1500. so much better then the crappy place i work now. plus this sounds like a job that really has some room in it. i mean, since its going to be my business, i can buy more vans after i get into the groove of everything, and hire drivers to work for me. it sounds like ill be able to make a really good living with this job. im extremely psyched about it

but anyways, im just waiting to hear back from her today in responce to my voicmail i left her earlier, and if i got it, the van is going to become mine today...the van will also be nice bc i wanted a truck to haul jeep parts in, and with this, it will be no problem...i can even town my jeep with it being a 3/4 ton

So wish me luck all!

Bonus man hope it pans out for you. Working for yourself would be the ultimate. Best advice I can give you however is to keep meticulous records of expenses, mileage, maintenance, etc... Then when tax time comes around make sure you get someone who knows about small businesses to help you with your taxes.

yea, definitely. the guy who im buying the van from has a lady right here in my town that he told me to go to every 3 months. said she does a GREAT job with it...he told me to keep all my expences, even bills for electricity, and pretty much any bill that has to do with anything besides my jeep...said just about everything is deductable...said if i have something that cant be, she will just say so, and thats that...

and also, I got a call from the lady today and i GOT the job! ill be picking up the van tomorrow and getting the title turned over to me then in a week im going to orientation for the job.
