I need to re-evaluate the company I keep.....

All over my facebook page, everyone is crowing about that show starring those terribly annoying people from a certain east coast state, who act like idiots pretty much 24/7. Double-U Tee Eff. How can people watch this nonsense? "Let's take the absolute worst examples of humanity we can find, then glorify their lifestyle, ignorance and attitudes for profit!!"

\end rant.

Sorry, I just don't see the attraction. I live literally 20 minutes from Jersey, I have to see these people on a regular basis. Did they REALLY need a TV show?

I had to go to New Jersery for military training in 06 and have absolutely no desire to ever go back.

Jersey actually has some very beautiful locales and in their defense, most Jersey residents are good enough. It's this type of Jersey resident that kills it for the lot of them.
But, that type also live in plenty other places than Jersey......

in this case, you are better for it.

if you know what a "guido" is, you know what the show is about. cameras follow a group of them around to all the popular douchebag hangouts at the jersey shore.

Is that the name of the show? I've heard the name Jersey Shore before but that is about it.

Well I shouldn't say that I don't watch TV. I watch 4 or 5 shows but I download them a few hours after they air so I don't see commercials or what ever the networks are cramming down our throats. Also I can watch it at my convenience and not have to worry about missing a show.

I'm from a small country town in Jersey. Not everyone in Jersey is like that. I hated the cities in Jersey, but you couldn't beat being in the country.

i have driven to my buddy's house, who lives in a suburb of trenton. i'm not sure if it's the turnpike or 95 that has all the gorgeous "scenic vista" pull offs along the highway, but jersey is a pretty state.
i know first hand there are plenty of good folks in jersey, but it's a shame that a lot of people who are fans of that show probably think you're all like that.

Let me set the record straight, those idiots from that god awful show ARE NOT FROM JERSEY. They are new yorkers that come down here and crap up our beaches and make a bad name for my state. Most people from jersey look at these idiots and shake their heads and facepalm .

I've had a good opinion of New Jersey for years after I went home with a buddy to Philipsburg for a long Thanksgiving weekend back when I was in the service. I admit Philipsburg is not on the coast and it's not that close to any of the bigger cities out that way. The people there were very friendly and really reminded me of good old West Texans.....except they didn't talk like them. The countryside was beautiful.....I remember a mountain, I think it was Ingersol Mtn. Lots of trees, wildlife, greenery. What I remember most is the people.....good folks. They will be quick to tell you the big Jersey cities give NJ a bad name.

I feel the exact same way as this statement. I do not watch 98% of TV shows and I do not read the newspapers. All of it is negative crap and stupid people. to all of them.

My boss is from New Jersey, so I make fun of Jersey people every chance I get at his expense (in a friendly way, of course). He is always quick to point out that the obnoxious ones are the ones who live outside NYC and that the rest of the state is a lot nicer. I guess I have to take his word for it because I don't think I've ever stepped foot in the state.

i pretty much agree. facebook has been a great tool to get in touch with people who have moved away or whatever, but all the games and bs associated with it i could do without.
most tv is garbage these days.
i avoid the news like the plague. corporate owned, fact bending, agenda pushing drivel.

being from NY, we jump out of womb hating NJ - I believe they have done studies where they show todlers the shape of the state and they begin crying. There have also been studies that the air quality is worse than a bathroom that had just been used by Ron Jeremy.

I kid! I kid!

Mountain creek is one of my favorite places to go boarding. I like how there is still a landscape to the state as opposed to LI

It is funny because the VERY small town I was in, my neighbors were either farmers or very wealthy people. Even with this huge monetary gap, everyone was very respectful and kind to each other. I loved living there and miss that small town feel. It really is a shame that there are people like this. When I mention that I am from Jersey, people judge me right off the bat. They thing I was born in the middle on Newark in a bar, instead of a small country town where horses and farms were a normal thing.

Only one of them is from Jersey. They were at Seaside, but never set foot in the Surf Club. They never would have made it out. Back in my days at the Jersey shore that crap wouldn't have been tolerated.

BTW #51 is from Long Branch. Those are the kind of guys I hung with at the shore.
