I wanna be in charge from now on...

Next time you go to the Grand Canyon, don't expect anyone to tell you how old the canyon is estimated to be.

HOW OLD IS THE GRAND CANYON? PARK SERVICE WON’T SAY — Orders to Cater to Creationists Makes National Park Agnostic on Geology

Who really puts time into placing these policies on the books?

And why is everyone so easily offended anymore? If you believe what you believe, who cares that a park official says the park is older than your faith says the earth is.

Does that mean that the layer of Devonian era fossils really isn't 386 million years old?

Dang Tiny, now you got my timeline all messed up!

I didn't do it, I just came across it. I'm still fairly secure in my belief that aliens dug the canyon with lazer beams to mark the planet as a good place to stop and take a pee.

Stands to reason they'd need a place to take a leak, you can't just do that in space. I think guys need gravity, though I might be wrong.

But come on, what someone else says shouldn't wound your system of faith so much that you have to silence them.

I agree. I know what my beliefs are and, no matter what others say, I'm sticking to them.

This is just more political correctness. How I long for the days when manners and common decency (and the fear of Momma's backhand) dictated people's behavior, instead of the government telling us what we're allowed to say/do/own/think.

We don't need gravity as long as it's not windy.

And just exactly how should you spell that particular word?

Thanks Tiny for clarifying this for me on the next post. I think I was working too hard today and this one flew right over my head.

I see you learned manners 101 from Momma, too

Yup. Even now, in her 70s, I bet she could knock a grown man on his backside.

From not being able to say how old the grand canyon is to taking a pee in the snow...... ah the places this thread has been.

(I still want to be in charge, everyone's fair game and no one's allowed to get their feelings hurt)

I don't understand the need some people have for everything to be explained. Why is that there ? How long has it been there ? How long did it take for it to become ? I don't care. It's there, it's beautiful, I enjoy it. Can I 'wheel in it ?

It makes no diifference to me if something is 1 billion years old or 10 thousand. And it makes no difference to you either. It's still there, you can still enjoy it. Endless debates over mindless matters........Just enjoy it, and hope they don't close it off to public access.

We're still not looking at the bigger issue. I want to be in charge so there's no more people talking on the phone while they drive....

I saw a woman putting on mascara at a stop light the other day. Mouth hanging open, looking in her rear view mirror. I really wanted to tap her bumper just make her poke herself in the eye for being stupid....
