I never thought I would see the day when you get disciplined for wearing the American flag in f****ing America!!!

I am so pissed off right now...

What would happen if someone wore the Mexican flag on Independence day? F****ing nothing because THAT WOULD BE RACIST TO PUNISH THEM

I hate the where this country is going.

Just wait. You thought healthcare was rammed down our throats. Were fixing to have 30 million new citizens amongst us. Our fearless leader is fixing to reform immigration and get himself and his gang 30 million thats right MILLION new voters. This incident is just the beginning.

This is classic for a portion of the minority community who claim to respect diversity and tolerance, yet seem to have none for others who are not like them (or at least willing to support their cause politically). I am afraid you are right that this is just the beginning. In schools they celebrate black history month, Kwanza, Cinco de myo but you can't say Christmas or Easter. Kids are brainwashed that if they are not a minority, that means they are bad and responsible for the atrocities in the world...moreover that is forever their fate to pay for these sins. It turns my stomach but history and culture have been rewritten for the last 30 years and things are only escalating. People are going to have to learn to protest loudly this kind of hypocrisy and fight for the values this country was founded on. The sad thing is a lot of Latino's have values more like typical americans and they would not agree with this distortion. Unfortunately, a chance for citizenship may muddy the waters for awhile, but in the end I fear it will be too late.

This is ridiculous. Those boys did nothing wrong. There taste in clothing is questionable but not wrong. Those of you spouting off about Flag code should actually read it. I did not see in the code as written were it said clothing made to look like a flag was never to be used. It said that a flag is not to be worn. These boys were not wearing flags. If you were not to wear clothing resembling the American flag a third of the people in the US would be topless on the 4th of July. I expect those of you that are having issues with flag clothing tell everyone at your local 4th of July parade to turn there improperly displayed flags inside out.

When I was a kid in school I can remember somebody wearing a flag shirt one day. They were sent home and suspended for 2 weeks.
We were taught respect for the flag and our country. Maybe it's because our neighborhood lost so many souls in Vietnam. Maybe it's one of those cultural evolution things.
But it pisses me off to see the flag disrespected.

I'm afraid the ACLU and the "politically Correct" status of our rep governments allow one rule break, to accomplish another one

The constitutional "2nd ammendment" is really a test ground for this same "rule bending", not that there's anything wrong with that ()

OOOPS wrong group !

Someone please explain to me how a shirt that looks like a flag is disrespectful. The people who design, sell and buy these items are making an attempt at patriotism and you tell them it is disrespectful. I have a Smith & Wesson t-shirt with TWO crossed American flags on the front and the 2nd Amendment on the back. I am sorry I thought that when my best friend died in my arms in Kuwait I was given the right to determine what patriotism is.

On the news that night there was an interview with a Hispanic girl and she said, " not to be racist but these white boys were the only ones wearing the American flag, I didn't expect that. I only expected to see the Mexican flag that day ".

Yes Nick504, you fought for the right of freedom, that doesn't mean you can forget the constitution and reasons for this "law of the land"

Regardless of who originally printed the "T" shirts, IT's WRONG as far as the Strict American flag code is interpreted, of course, the students didn't deserve their penalties and this argument is getting STUPID, for a simple JEEP FORUM !!

Now this thread is turning into a
"SKIRMISH", so MODERATORS--I'M outta here

By the way Nick, I'm sorry for your loss, but my 23 yrs Navy and 10 yrs in Fed "Ocean Engineering" give me the same rights!!

1) BMT for me.
2) My father-in-law spent 20 years on subs.
3) Should we be careful with flag displays on July 1? That is Canada Day.
4) I love how some Americans think they celebrate 4th of July in other countries. Is it perhaps that we celebrate every other country's holidays?

The Dolphim--"Triple Nickel" AGSS(?) 555, your dad had a dangerous duty, she had one escape hatch-thru the tower and a top, crash speed of 4 knots

I believe she ended up as a Deep submergence rescue vehicle, was a very deep diver and a tiny submarine

My duties were spread between the USS PARCHE SSN 683 and the USS RUSSELL SSN 687, Sturgeon Class, With some special duties on the USS SEAWOLF SSN 575

I'm afraid we are in the wrong thread, but thats about all I could tell you anyway --JEEPS JEEPS JEEPS

Y'all know what a history buff I am, I went looking for the true story of Sinko De Mayo so we actually have some context for this discussion. It took some digging but I finally found it.

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York . This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico . But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York . The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as -

Sinko De Mayo.

if the mexican-american students were so offended by the American flag, in AMERICA, they should go to Mexico. Then they can whine.
