Its an awful problem

Jeep Hair..

How do you keep from getting it? I am a professional and love to drive mine without doors and a top.. I do have a spiderwebshade, which helps, but help me solve this problem!!! My hair looks like it came from Nero in a 1960s movie..

My hair comes down to almost my waist... I just braid it or pull it up with a clip... but not sure how many guys would do that.

usually a hat

As a girl with longer hair I have been known to forget to do a mirror check and walk into a store with a crazy hair do. About the time I start getting funny looks I remember

As a guy with long hair...Bandana, hat, or tight ponytail. There's really no way around it, if your going to drive topless and/or door less your hair is not going to be pretty. It's the price of being cool...

The trick is in how you shave your head. You have to keep an even guide across the grain. Otherwise, you get a few longer strays a couple days later and see them in the rear view mirror.

Thought of the hat, but I get "hat" hair.. I do have short hair but with the wind coming in from behind, arghhh.. the beanie sounds like a plan, but does it give you "beanie" hair? post beanie pics and sources of cool beanies please.

Wow dude you must have some amazing hair. I'm sure if I had hair like that I'd be stressing about keeping it perfect too.

I can totally respect the awesomeness of your hair, so I have taken the liberty of writing you a simple how-to. Please follow all of the steps closely, there is a huge margin for error here. We will call this:

"The Official Jeeper's Guide to Awesome Hair"

Step 1.
Keep a bottle of water in your rear cup holders (not the front, for you still need room for your Starbucks Frappaccino). Keep a pump bottle of hair gel in the other rear cup holder. Don't worry about your backseat passengers needing a place for their beverages, they know you and therefore already totally understand how important your hair is to you.

Step 1.
Upon arrival to work, or the store, or anywhere else that you care about being seen with your hair a mess, just take the bottle of water. Put a little bit on your hair to de-fluff the frizz. Do not replace the cap yet, you will need this again for Step 3. You may set the open bottle in your second front cup holder. Please do not try to hold this between your knees while executing the following step. Trust me on this one, that has potential for a whole new problem for you to worry about.

Step 2.
Take your gel, rub between both hands, and apply. Depending on how awesome your hair is, you may or may not need to install a larger mirror. You can install a larger mirror behind the driver side visor. Maybe even attach it with some velcro, so you can take it with you inside, so you can periodically check the status of your awesome hair.

Step 3.
Locate your bottle of H2O and rinse the gel off your hands.

Step 4.
You are now ready to go to work (or store), armed with the confidence that you and your hair look absolutely amazing.

Good luck, and happy Jeeping!

ED: I am confused. Do you recommend the higher quality water like perrier or do you think regular tap water will do? Also, you did not mention using a brush. Is it OK to add that step after the gel? Will a comb suffice? Can i just spit in my hand instead of using gel?

American crew fiber. Sustains awesome hair up to 90mph. Most days I rock a neat churchy side part that says "I'm a virgin" but on days when I'm feeling saucy I'll do a James Dean-esque pompadour, neither of which has been thwarted by topless driving.

Short hair helps but if I have a meeting to go to, bottle water and some Gel in my jeep. Wait to do my hair in the parking lot! LOL

I think that you should follow "Step 1" exactly and spend the $1 on the bottle water. Let me break it down for you here. Sparkling water like Perrier won't work because the carbonation does bad things to your hair. It's kind of counterproductive. Plus it doesn't taste good without a lime, and what if you need a drink while doing your hair? Regular tap water, again a NO. Because what if you get thirsty? Who wants to taste that chlorine? And as far as spitting goes... it may work for you, BUT this post was written to DBoat. A guy that cares this much about his hair would never be caught applying saliva in it. lmao

Wow, so if I want to make payments I have to pay an extra ten bucks?! Very slick. That's good business!

Well, tried some different hair product today and it worked a bit better.. havent tried a gel as it makes my hair too stiff.
I still like the beanie idea if you dont get beanie hair, like you get hat hair from a baseball cap.
I could get a windjammer but that defeats the purpose of an open air Jeep doesnt it?

You may have to accept the fact that your hair might just be too cool for jeep ownership

I have naturally curly hair. I wash it in the morning and comb it the way I want, it, it then dries and does whatever it wants. I have no control.

So riding in a Jeep with the top down doesn't really do anything that my hair already doesn't do!

I shave my head but I like wearing ball caps due to being sunburn prone. This is my next purchase:
