Any ATVers out there? It won't crawl over a boulder the size of a VW, but the power to weight ratio is a bit better than your typical Wrangler Hoping to hit some trails tomorrow.

I was always down on these - too expensive, need to trailer, need to return to where you started, can't go on roads.

But then I borrowed one from work. I went on a trail that takes some time with a Jeep, and just blasted around it. Ended up going twice, 'cuz I finished so soon. And I was laughing the whole way.

I use to ride 4wheeler ALOT around the farm. We had 2 Arctic Cats, a 250 and a 400. The 250 had something like 10k 15k miles on it. I drove that thing into the ground lmao.

I've always rode Hondas. In fact, I just sold my Rincon to buy the Can Am. The Honda had better suspension, but had less power than I was looking for. The Can Am is a monster in the power department. I've questioned the value of the CVT transmission in the past, but I've never had so much as a hiccup with Ski Doos and they're all belt drive. I'm certainly enjoying the wheelies and the power slides with the Can Am. I guess I'll find out if it's a good long term design.

the difference in the wave runners and 4 wheelers is that the belt doesnt get submerged in mud/water like the on the 4 wheeler. i know several guys w/ polaris's that once the belts get under water it slips until its dried out real good. so you're not getting nearly enough power to the wheels to move you. and i def know what you mean about the lack of power w/ the honda. it seems like its not exactly lacking the power, just the torque, granted, i've rarely even gotten stuck, short of trying to cross ridiculous mud bogs. but like taking off from a dead stop it just doesnt throw your head back like it should

yeah...I ride with about 30 guys...the club has a few hundred members...and we have guys riding through ponds where they're seats are often submerged...belt problems are pretty rare. Generally about 1 guy per ride ends up having an issue and he's usually doing something really silly. I prefer not to use my quad as a submarine.

i have a blaster and an old quadrunner. the blaster is my toy, the little quadrunner sees more chore duty. primarily pulling my bush hog around mowing and for spraying brush.

We have a family of OHVs
Honda Rancher 350- simple, it works
Honda Foreman Rubicon 500- simple, it works. It's got a torque converter auto, SAPS the torque from it. However, we have a Tatou 4S track kit for grooming in the snow. I have yet to get it stuck, it rescues snowmobiles all the time.
Arctic Cat 355- too soft, peppy though
Suzuki Vinson 500- MINE AND LOVE IT, awesome suspension, selectable 2/4 wheel, adjustable preload, disk brakes, the engine makes some good power too. Wheelies are no problem for it and it's light on the back so the tail is waggy (read: fun) Racks and skid plates and a winch, plus plow...perfect

I miss my first quad, a Honda CR90...it had enough power to pull me around at a decent pace even at 200 pounds, super light, comfy
