Those ZRX's are nice. You just don't see too many inline fours any more.

Gary, That is one sweet Kawi. It's a 2000 year model yet I would have guess much older. Has that retro look with the dual rear shocks and the square head light and air cooled. Very nice!

Mine is a basic FZ6. 600cc sport tourer. Last summer, 2006, my buddy and I road up to Monterey for the MotoGP. Awesome time. This year since his bike is brokedown we drove.

How far is Indy from you? Make your plans now to ride to the MotoGP weekend. It is definately one of those "Epic" rides.

I am a huge race fan...any type of racing. I watch all vehicles and all venues. Even been to Riverside here in So Cal before they tore it down.

Nothing has matched that summer I rode up to Monterey. There is something about Laguna Seca and watching the race from up on the hill.

Gary,

I did notice on the Deals Gap pic that your sliders are still virgin! LOL!

Well mine are too and always will be. The FZ6 is NOT a knee draggin bike anyway. I too need to upgrade. I am thinking of starting with a bigger rear sprocket and see if that helps coming out of the corners. That little 600 of mine has nuthin at the low RPMs. Now get it above 7,000 and you better be hanging on. It hits the afterburner about 9 to 10 grand RPM.

I owned a '99 ZX9-R for a number of years. In fact I just sold it about 3 years ago. I had it when I bought my '02 R1 new. I had the R1 for 6 days before taking the motor apart and getting a little crazy with the mods. I rode the ZX9-R most of the time and just took the R1 to track days. It's a little too much for the street as it is now. That Kawi sure was fun. Very heavy bikes compared to the R1, but since it was carbed, the throttle was so smooth I could ride stand-up wheelies all day long. Definately not a track bike like my R1, though. But, different bikes for different applications, huh? I wish I still had my Kawi....I really miss it. I need to get another bike for the street and get that R1 off the street.

i was this > < close to buying a ZRX before i bought my SV. but they wanted too much for it and i was worried about it being way too much bike for me.

i am still very happy with my "little" 650 though. as much as i like the sound of a I4 screaming at 14K i gotta love the grunt of my v-twin. i can rail the twistys in 3 gear at 6-9K rpm have plenty of engine braking when i need it and plenty of torque for the exits. and at about 360lbs dry its just flickable.
the only beef i have with it is the front forks could be stiffer but better springs and heavy oil could help that.

i want another bike. not a replacement...another. i want either a big sport tourer like a ST1300 or a Concours. but i am also really jonesing for a dual sport or motard......ghaaa. i need to hit the powerball and get a bigger garage

if i had the time and money i would have at LEAST 6 bikes

id keep the SV. great for commuting and all around bike.

Honda ST1300 for touring. i want to be able to ride long rides with some of my buddies with goldwings.

some kind of dualsport or motard like a drz400

a old rat/bobber/chopper of some kind, maybe a old triumph. just to barhop on. pull up to the local bar on Saturday night, park right in the middle of all the chrome catalog HD's and have people go WTF is THAT?

something like a gsxr750 for trackdays and maybe learn a bit of stunting on.

and a Ural patrol. sorry i just like them that and i have a big black lab that i would love to teach how to ride around in the sidecar

I had an old Norton Commando back in college as one of my bikes. Actually, it was technically my Dad's, but I rode it all the time. I think it was a '73 or maybe a '74. It was so cool. I would give anything to have that bike again. I also had a '95 CBR900RR at the same time and I rode the Norton more than I did the CBR!! It was so much fun to ride, and I got so many girls to ride on that thing!!
