Each of the forums has their strengths and weaknesses. The larger ones have their share of putzes who like to respond to new Jeeper questions.

Leaves a nice impression of Jeepers eh?

I also hang out on JU, JO, JF, JustWranglers, Edmunds, and www.itsajeep.org. I just ignore those who are smartasses and do what I can to help.

My approach here is the same on the other sites - help where I can, be friendly, and try to learn.

My answers will not always be right, but I try to respond when I have experience with the topic at hand. If I haven't experienced it personally or know specific people who have, I just watch and learn. A lot of what we do with our Jeeps is personal preference and what each of us wants to do with our Jeep.

My Jeep would piss off some simply because it is a 2.5L with D35 and I spent time, money, and effort in building up my 'turd' of a D35. I'm very happy with it. Others swear a D60 or 8.8 is the only way to go. THAT is where a lot of the people have problems. They don't want to feel that they made an inferior selection for what they did.

When I ask questions, I take answers into consideration and ultimately decide what is best for me, my Jeep, and wheeling style.

I just feel sorry for the e-toughguys. They must have no life.

yeah....that's what I thought, you better hit that back door running

on a serious note, all of us have "heard" the horror stories about the Dana 35....but how many folks on the forum have actually broken one and what were they doing when it happened.

Seen one snap in person. Too much gas... too little traction... until it caught. POP

My 4cyl doesn't put out enough torque to snap one.

Never broke one myself because I've never wheeled with a jeep that had one.

I have seen it happen with too much pedal and not enough traction. However we don't many people with D35's going wheeling with us.

I had a super 35 kit in mine before I upgraded to a 44. I had heard the horror stories and I had thought it would be fine with a super kit, because I didn't want to pull the trigger on a swap. I ate my mistake, no ketchup or dressing, when I was out with my wife and daughter, playing in the sand by the salton sea. Didn't do anything to the detroit or the alloy axles, but, as they say, the ring gear then becomes the weak point, and it failed. There's your first hand exp.
