A Jeep photo safari would be a cool thing.

We went to town yesterday morning to go grocery shopping and on the way out had to stop and uplug the culvert that runs under the driveway because the rain water was washing over the driveway and treatening a washout.

I thought I'd snap a picture and then set my little trail camera on the fender to finish shoveling.

It suddenly started down pouring again and we stashed the tools, rushed into the Jeep and headed to town.
When we stopped in town I realized I had forgotten the camera on the fender. I thought that it had prolly slid off onto the driveway.

On the way home I found my camera laying out on the main road, it had been run over -
man I hate it when I do stupid sh!T! $300, right down the friggin drain.

Surprisingly the little thing still works, but it is sure beat to hell.

Amazing testimonial. What make and model? Takes rain, drop from vehicle at speed amd being run over and then more rain and keeps on ticking.

Ratuna's Sears Tower pic reminded me of one I took in New York that I like (I don't know, it's not super special but I like it.. I think it's the shades of blue...)
The Time Warner building.

It's an Olympus Stylus 1030SW.

I'm thinking of replacing it with one of these:

Not necessarily from Best Buy though.

I'd appreciate your thoughts on it

I've got the same camera, all the underwater shots were taken with it as well. I fully stand behind the Olympus...

Fox, do you have any issues with it in macro mode.

It was often very grainy, I didn't like that.
Super macro mode w/led light on.

The other thing that gave us a wee bit of trouble was the location of the lens. My OBM was always taking pictures of his fingers.

I was considering the Pentax in hopes that maybe those issues would be resolved. Well, that AND Hi-Def video would be sweet for trail riding.

I wish I had the circular polarising filter I got this week for a couple of those shots. Oh well, I'll have it now for the Greek shots.

All I need to do is to design some sort of portable platform I can set up in the back of the TJ to get me up off the ground. Kind of like Ansel on his Woody.

This is the model I have, I haven't had any issues with the camera and I don't use macro mode much, if at all... I might have used it when I first got it but usually choose a special scene mode with modified settings. As far as the finger in front of the lens issue... I've only had a few shots up close of my finger. Hi-Def video would be pretty cool for the trail but until I break my TWO digitals I'm gonna stick with them...
