I don't think our country will make much progress if we continue to try to make our personal views a rule for the majority. If that's being liberal then so be it. We'll continue to squabble because we all think we're right. For myself, I'm conservative, particularly fiscally.

No truly rational person would fit seamlessly into any political party or category. Anyone who thinks for themselves will find they could be classified as liberal, conservative, libertarian etc. depending on the topic.

I think most Americans agree with some policies of both political parties, but very few of us actually agree with either platform 100%.

This is why most of us feel disenfranchised by both.

The pubs have gone waaayyyy too far right, and the dems have gone waaaayyy too far left.

Most of us are stuck here in the middle with no real representation. We are only offered the "lesser of two evils" in nearly every election cycle from dogcatcher up to Prez.

I agree there is alot of truth to your statement. Also I am conservative and in NJ. In NJ I am very conservative but when I visit down south my friends there say I am a libreal. I guess it depends where you live as well.

Fiercly independent. I'm a Thomas Jefferson radical with a twinge of Samuel Adams.

101 The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.

It looks like the majority of Jeepers lean to the Right/ are Republicans. Or at least the ones who have jeeps and are on this forum.

Nah. I'd say if you break it down, we'd all be in the middle on most issues.

Environment for example. Jeepers sure as heck don't worry too much about MPG, but we all probably do more in the Great Outdoors than average Taurus owners.
Most of us would probably strongly support reasonable preservation of open/green spaces, public land and wildlife management, but would still support responsible oil research and drilling. A little lefty and a little righty.
Libs want to hug every tree, and the pubs want to cut them all down.

Jeepers appear to strongly support the 2nd Amendment, but don't want weapons in the hands of criminals. A little right and a little left.
The right wants to arm anybody and everybody, the left wants to take away slingshots and dart guns.

I'm a republican but vote exactly the same way it's called being educated. Voting solely on party affiliation is idiotic to me.

Its like voting between a turd taco and a Vibrator. One looks appealing but leaves a bad taste and the other bends you over.

Registered dem. Everyone in my family are uneducated registered republicans and just vote for the same party their parents and grandparents did just because they were raised that way. I refuse to follow in their footsteps and decided to create my own opinion. I am not against republicans at all, but like most find myself in the middle.

registered Republican.Substitute the word conservative for Republican and I could vote Democrat if he/she was one. Unfortunetly where I live that doesn't happen often.
