there's some good off-roading in the pine barrens. you just have to watch out for the locals. did you ever see deliverance..............
This is no joke. I was out riding past Browns Mills and came back to where the trail 4-way'd. One was a gate that was open, and my dumbass decided to take it. About a mile back was a open clearing with a trailer, trash scattered everywhere, and a in-ground pool completely empty but full of shit...

...
...
...

and someone came out of the trailer. I've never bolted down dirt paths so fast before. I love living here man, but there is some SCARY stuff back here. No joke. Actually, a lot of the locals can trace their ancestry back to Red Coat Navy that fled during the American Revolution and hid all throughout the pine barrens.

You also might be from South Jersey if

you say chocolate as Chack-lit
know what a boost is, and know that it tastes best as a slushie
know the difference between a double-wa and a super-wa
everything is 20 minutes away, no matter where
have spotted the jersey devil and really know that it exists
hooked up/taken a girl on a date at Apple Pie Hill
there's only north and south, there's no central
you still laugh everytime you hear Shamong.
the best wine is from Valenzano's... and you only paid $10
bleed green, black, orange, and red - go philly
know the difference between Moorestown and Morristown, and frankly - both suck
saying Yo is still acceptable
Planes fly into Ft. Dix and you can see the pilot as he flies over your house
Stopping at red lights and stop signs is optional after 8pm in Camden
you know Tasty-Cakes and Herrs
You know a guy for everything

However you spell it, I know how it sounds. Definitely not new england. New England is more of an "eh" with emphasis at the end of the word. Jersey it's in the beginning and the end tails off. There's also a lot of hands moving around. I always have difficulty speaking with a handheld microphone because I find myself moving it around.

It's dounnashore. Just one word.
Corse youse wanna goto Lannic Ciddy to gamble.

As an add on to #9, you know what a "circle" is.
Even the ones that arenít there anymore are still circles. Like the Airport Circle - which isn't a circle anymore, next to the airport that's long closed.

MOz

Shore tourist is a shoebie. Because they brought their lunch in a shoe box.

This thread brings back memories... haha. I lived in southern Jersey for a couple years about 10 years ago. I wish the rest of the country would adopt the jersey juke when in the left turn lane. I attempt it occasionally when I see the oncoming traffic napping.

South Jersey is nothing more than a Philly suburb.

Just to be perfectly clear, there is no such thing as a Jersey accent. Everyone else has an accent!

see, southerners have a more passive way of saying things. they have things like "bless you heart," and "that boy ain't right." up north we are a bit more direct. instead of saying the latter, we say things like "go F*#K yourself," and "that boy is an idiot."

FTW, i say "down the shore" and "down the river" all of the time. why go to the beach when you could go down the shore?

Years ago I tried to explain that to a west coast guy. You have to go down to the shore before you can get to the beach. Also F*#K is not only an adjective as in "that boy is a f*#king idiot", but it's also used correctly as a syllable as in, "unf*#kingbelievable."

Maybe the JK and TJ should get together and see what happens then. If not then you don't have a freckle, I mean hair on your butt.
