Yeah, here are a couple taken this morning. I absolutely love this knife and I will be buying another as soon as divorce is over. The more I use the more I love.

Throw it on Bladeforums or JerzeeDevil. If it is priced right, it won't sit very long.

Priced less than that model goes for on there. I post there too. But don't want to pay $30 for membership to sell 1 knife. Thought about it.

Geez that is beyond awesome. Congrats. Not only did they buy you an absolutely amazing knife they decked it out in Damascus! I'll be honest, I'm impressed with your grandparents. One thing the monetary amount but the quality and style they picked is something else.

I opted not to sell my Sebenza and I'm glad I did. It is the best EDC knife I could ever imagine. Take care of what they got you. You'll have rest of year life if you do. And don't let it be a safe queen. Sebenza means work. Let it do what was made to do.

Too many knives to list, but my main work knife has always been an Emerson Super Commander. I've put this thing through hell and back...mud, dirt, sand, digging, cutting on metal surfaces, dropped on the ground countless times and thrown in the back of trucks, you name it. Even some (gasp!) light prying. I always keep her sharp but rarely clean or lube the thing, only blow the crud out of it with an air hose once in a while. And you know what? This thing just continues to kick ass!

If i am in Gym shorts (which is often)i carry the gerber attached to my waistband or a cheap neck knife.

High school, which is why i was so surprised that i got such an expensive knife. They figured that it was something that i would have to remember them by for the rest of my life because the quality is so high, so they felt it was a good gift. Im not complaining...

Million options
Price range? Use? Manual, assisted, flipper, auto? Preference on blades shape and or steel type? Preference on lock?

assisted opening preferably under $50 and preferably part straight part serated blade. Don't know much about types of steel but it gets wet every day so can't have it rusting up.

Look for an s35-vn blade so it wont rust

Huh? There are plenty of steels that resist rust. Nothing special about s35vn in that regard. S30v is almost the same. Biggest difference between the two steels is 35vn is tougher and it polishes better.

Also, S35vn is a super steel that is fairy new, few years or so. That means compared to other steels it will cost more. For a guy looking for a knife in the $50 price range he is not concerned and honestly probably cannot tell a day to day difference between it s 440c or 154cm. And both of those steels have been around much much longer, they are great and widely avail, widely used, and manufactures have the heat treat process down. Benchmade for example loves 154cm steel and uses more than probably any other in their lineup

My Sebenza has S35VN and it is great steel. But not what I would look for in a $50 knife.

With that price point have fewer options but check out the SOG Flash I or II. Can get half/half blade, assisted opening.

SOG Aegis mini tanto might work too if you like that blade style.

As far as rust: as long as you are not in salt water each day the steels in those knives will work. Wipe down, hit with a little oil now and then and you'll be fine.

The steel in a benchmade assisted opener would have higher corrosion resistance bit they starts at just over $100, though you could find cheaper if look around or go used. bladeforums.com great place to buy used

The one I originally had in mind is closer to 3.6 inches so I did not mention it.

Also, to add one more thing: no stainless steel is corrosion or rust proof. some have higher resistance than others but none are rust proof.

Ha, yeah, lotta miles on the odometer. I've got a bunch of newer knives as well, but this one has the sentimental value, and is the one I carry 95% of the time.
