Top to bottom:

-Benchmade 9051 AFO-II Automatic Armed Forces survival knife

-Benchmade Mini-Stryker September knife of the month for year 2000, designs by Elischewitz. Each month in 2000, Benchmade took a production knife, teamed with a knifesmith to tweak the design, then released 1000 special edition knives for each month in 2000.

-CRKT M-16

-Parker Gypsy butterfly knife

-My trusty USMC letter opener.

I have many others, these we're simply the easiest ones to get to right now.

Benchmade 9100 auto Stryker. One of my best friends has it. Can buy used around $100. Incredible knife, really good quality. It's half straight, half serrated. Auto open. Quality 154cm steel. Benchmade does 154cm as good or better than anyone. He has had since that model comes out and he is hardcore hunter and fisher, along with being in the military. Knife gets a lot of use. And keeps on going. I can't recommend it enough.

Thought I'd share a knife I recently got from Jason Knight, it's one of 10 tacticals he was making. This is a wicked piece, sharp as can be. Sheath is by top leather guy Paul Long, set up for in the waist, cross draw.

The blade is 8 1/2" of forged W2 with some forging marks left , handle is Natural Canvas Micarta.

This is not a knife I will carry, safe queen for sure.

One of my Favs.

The knuckle protector is removable. Did come with a CRAPPY flashlight but I replaced it with a MUCH nicer mini-light and added a Leatherman Micra.

The pic is from Amazon as I didn't feel like taking everything out lol

Have Spyderco Delica, military and copilot, CRKT M16-14 (early non-safety), KISS, Kershaw Junkyard dog II titanium, E.T., Tyrade (gift from wife) and Swiss black champ. There is a number of other misc knives.

Tactical Bottle Opener

Here is a knife I designed; The Tactical Bottle Opener.

I took an angle grinder to a cheap MAXAM and cut off part of the Byrd style thumb hole
to create a cap lifter. I use it every day to open my beers.

Cheers.

This Case was given to my Dad
not long before he passed four years ago.
It's been my EDC since then.

Thanks. If I had known what an iPhone camera could do,
I would never have bought my last camera, an Olympus Pen e-PL1.

Javelin BOK (Bottle Opener Knife)

Cap lifters or bottle openers are available on many knives
from the venerable Swiss Army Knife to modern multi-tools
if you don't mind taking the time to pry them open.
The bottle opener on the Javelin BOK, $22 from Knife Hog, however,
is incorporated into the handle design so it is always deployed and ready.

A thumb stud and frame lock provide for right-handed operation of the blade.
Obviously, do not attempt to open a bottle while the blade is exposed
unless you want to be confused for a yakuza screw-up.
The ubiquitous clip is included for tip down carry if you like you knife to show.

By the way, just trust me on this, never visit KnifeHog when you've been drinking.

Cheers!

Ever since they came out, I've been a Spyderco enthusiast. My first was an early Endura model that is now about 25 years old. This week, I bought my fifth, a diminutive ClipiTool with bottle opener. This ugly little stainless steel jewel is a pleasure to handle and use. Unfortunately, it is so small that it cannot be one-handed, at least not by me. It might double as an interesting money clip.

Did I mention to never visit KnifeHog.com when you've been drinking?

Cheers!

For a general purpose knife I like the Grohmann #3 Canadian Army Knife.

Swapped out my EDC about a month ago. For the longest time I was carrying this (cue google images)

Spyderco Military:

Spyderco Delica 4:

Since swapping to this a month ago I prefer the Delica greatly over the larger Military. I don't feel this in my pocket at all. Blade length is just shy of 3 inches vs 4 inches on the Military. For how I use it as a EDC is just makes more sense. Super easy one handed operation.

I made a post in this thread earlier about the Military blade rusting. Well after trying every homebrew method google threw at me I ended up trying whatever I had lying around. Meguiars Scratch X did the trick. Put some on a rag and one swipe all the rust was gone. Then cleaned and oiled it and it's been fine ever since.

Current EDC has been this Chris Reeve Large Insingo with micarta inlays for a few months now. I really like this blade more and more - basically a Wharncliff crossed with a straight razor made of S35VN with a thick spine and a chisel in the back of the tip, all paired with a titanium handle that has some micarta for grip and bulk. Works great on everything from rope and tomatoes to heavy boxes and wood.

Dropped my edc AK-47 at work and broke the pommel. The finish had worn off most of the knife. So I took it apart, made a new pommel from steel and polished the scales. Looks great again and ready for several more years. I put a new knife on law-a-way but can't for the life of me remember the name. I've never seen one before but it is beautiful. Polished blade, dimpled scales, semi polished on one side. Opens really nice and easy with a solid lock. I was playing with it and the salesman tried it and agreed it was sweet. I think the make was Kyten, Kyser or Kylen and the model is Brock? I'll have it next week and post pictures.

Been trying to find another mini, been my EDC since late '90s. No luck. By far the best folder I've ever owned.
That M2 blade is tough as hell and holds a great edge. Too bad they don't use it anymore. Wondering what's comparable to the benchmade M2 blade?
