This is the day I bought Bristol. She was in the back of a duck boat with her brothers and sisters in a Cabelas parking lot. It was super cute. The breeder had duck blinds set up like a pen around all the pups.

I'm so in love with my dog. It makes my wife jealous.

Not to hijack but could some one PM me about BLIND RETRIEVE training tips.

Awesome thread, I smiled more looking at the dogs then I do reading the fights and arguments about LA vs SA vs MA.... LOL!!!!

Not one Lab Mix?

Fear not! Here is the great Maggie! (the other two are our resident Aussies. )

We think Maggie is a Malamute/Lab/Coonhound mix.

BENHEDRICK your dog is amazing! Love those shots.

WRANGLERGIRLL great thread idea and your new pup Cabela is adorable, you will have so much fun with your first Lab. Hide the Cheezits!

All the Labs in this thread look great and so happy. How can anyone argue that Labs are not the best dog ever?

I have a 4 year old yellow named Hemi The Second. He is a real joy, named after my first Lab Hemi who lived an amazing 15.5 years of 100% fun and love.

This is awesome! We have a saying that my Leo has, "OCBD". Obsessive Compulsive Ball Disorder, lol. He too is insane when it comes to fetch, I ask him if he want's to get his fetch on and he bolts to the toy box to find his ball and you better be out of the way when he finds it since he then bolts to the front door. If I grab the trash to take it out, he immediately grabs his frisbee type toy since he knows I'll throw it a few times.

It's fascinating how smart they really are.

Overall yes, but there are days that Mocha dog is within inches of being set free in the wilderness

J/k....he's a pain, but since I had two good kids and have had 5 good Labs I guess it's time I got one bad one

Hemi is gorgeous, he looks just like our Flash. That is a fantastic picture, I would love to get a nice photo of my dogs by the Jeep....who am I kidding, getting the 4 of them sitting still next to a vehicle they know will take them somewhere is next to impossible I think the Chocolate Labs next to my Crush Jeep would be a good shot though.

You know your lab has OCBD WHEN........

Fast asleep at 3:00 am..... you hear this...... THUMP..BOP...BOP.BOP.BOP. THUMP...BOP..BOP.BOP.BOP. ... A

I'm trying to mimic the sound of your lab dropping her tennis ball on the bed next to you r head, it going off the side of said bed and bouncing 3 times. This repeats until you hide her ball in you r night stand.

Oh Ya, this promptly happens again moments later after she bolts through the dog door with another ball she pulled out of a bush in the back yard.

Luckily mine all sleep in crates. Otherwise I can only imagine what my house would look like in a night There would be dead toys everywhere, Mocha & Flash seem to think tug of war with the stuffed babies is a marathon sport. I could leave Lily out, but she loves her crate and prefers being in it. Leo will sleep on the foot of our bed if not in his crate, with a tennis ball and his fling it toy tucked in with him. It's probably just to keep them from the others.

A bunny would be a bad, bad thing around my place. I can't even get birds to come into my yard, the house behind me has bird feeders and I thought I would hang a couple on the patio. My husband just laughed at me, said he didn't think we had suicidal birds and I was wasting my money. He's right, the same bird seed has been in them over a year and is starting to sprout

Its crazy how soft Bristol's mouth is. She will play fetch with balloons and not pop them. She has brought me live birds she catches too. Once a baby duck she swam out to catch. Every single one of them were totally fine. Scared maybe and covered in slobber LOL!!!

Every Lab we've had has been like that, it's why my husband loves them to hunt with. Of course the fact they have an amazing natural instinct helps.

I once saw a show on some English dog that is supposed to be the best hunter around. They had competition's where they hid frozen hot dogs and made the dogs retrieve them, if they ate them they lost the competition.

I told Mike I thought Leo was the best hunting dog around and I was going to do the hot dog test. I hid 4 frozen hot dogs in the front yard, he found each one on command...........and ate every one of them I tried my darnedest to get him to bring them to me, he stopped and gobbled them down every time, lol.

It's a good thing Mike has hunted with him for years before the test, otherwise he may have lost hope. Mike still teases me about the hot dog test

Mike makes Leo his own peanut butter sandwich to eat while they sit in the duck blinds hunting, he's a bit spoiled.

My daughter has been playing hide and seek with Bristol. I got some deer antler sheds off eBay. Then what looks like chapstick but its like a horn wax cent stuff.

Well we put the wax on the antlers and hide then all over our 17 acre horse trails/property. After we have them hid we go get mighty mut out of the jeep and Gabon a nature walk. My daughter Alison tells Bristol to find the bones. Dog takes off and comes back with one antler at a time till our bag is full.

I'm hoping this winter after hunting season is over we can all go horn hunting. See if she will bring us fresh antler sheds. I told Alison if we get enough, we can make a chandelier with em.

LOL... MY DOG JUST ATE A BIG BUBBLE BEE AND I THINK IT STUNG HER TOUNGE!!!!! SHEZ A SPAZZ!!!

That's exactly what Leo looked like the first time we took him swimming.

There was a man standing on the ledge above us and kept yelling that he was drowning. I was freaked out, Mike kept telling me to relax and he was fine. After awhile I started crying, thinking he really was drowning so Mike swam out and grabbed him.

It was at Havasu, in November and the water was freezing! Mike was so pissed, Leo was upset since he was having fun and I was an emotional wreck.

Let's just say it wasn't the best first swim, lol.

When he took Mocha for his first swim, he made me stay home

Well there's nothing like a good dog fight at 7am to start your Monday. I made the mistake of feeding all 4 dogs at the same time this morning, usually I feed the brown dogs, then the yellow dogs.

They all eat in my laundry room, in separate areas and there's no need for there to be a problem. I was in a hurry and let them all in, Leo is very territorial about his dish, not with people, only with other dogs.

Flash made the mistake of wandering over to Leos dish, Leo attacked him and it was on. I'm used to grabbing Leo by the neck during a fight, lets just say there's been a few with him

I had my hands full this morning though, Flash is 78lbs and very passive, not this morning, he stood up to Leo and was fighting back. Leo is 87lbs so trying to hold him back by the neck while Flash was in his face was a challenge.

I was able to get flash to leave the room, drug Leo outside and things were calm. No injuries on either dog, more bark than bite I guess. Funny thing was Lily and Mocha just sat there watching, not moving at all which is good. If all four started fighting I think I would have just closed the door and left them in there
