Can you just leave it loose in the back of the jeep and plug it in to cigarette lighter?

I am sure you could wire something to do that, seeing as your cig lighter is 12v, or someone probably makes one like that

I just kinda like the idea of it flopping around while I'm wheeling.

The vvair is one of the high end units. Its better than a plug in one. They top out at 700$. Have big air tanks. They are the way to go if you dont do a sanden

He is to ill now a days to work on his vehicle, was hard last night seeing him in bed on oxygen, he made me get all teary eyed, he kept telling me how proud he was and how great of a job I have been doing with my life...if he only knew I haven't checked over the wife's, hers might be air in the coolant lines, not sure. Mom's is a forgotten issues, it works for the most part now, and she is selling the Van in 2 weeks to carmax lol. My jeep however, will sit just below 210 and make my feet cold from the air coming out. If only I could find a write up on removing my dash, so I can look behind it, I need to do some work back there anyways
That'll be nice of you - and I'm sure he'd really appreciate it!
You should check if his fan is mounted to the radiator or the motor. If on the motor I'd check to see if it's seized up - mine was and would cause my engine to not reach operating temp (though it would get above the "C" area...) If on the radiator I'd make sure its running at the right times. Some people will hook up electric fans and have them run constantly (while key "on")...
I'd also look to make sure his T-Stat is the right one - or is even working. Doesn't really make sense that his engine wouldn't warm up at all unless the fan was constantly running or the t-stat wasn't working properly. I don't know - I guess there could be other factors...

And with your Jeep I'd DEFINITELY be tearing my dash apart if I was you. Something has GOT to be messed up in your heater...

For when I have a girl with me and she wants the AC on. Though I will have to remember to clean the vents occasionally. One time I let my sister use the Dodge and she was like "your damn truck spit dust all over me!" She turned the AC on and the vents had dust built up lol.
Same here. Though, like you said, sometimes it can be nice... I like to have it on the REALLY hot days when with the GF or when on my way to work and don't want to be sweating when the top is on. Haha!

Hahaha! That's awesome! I had that happen in my S-10 one Winter after I'd let it sit for about a year. I started it up and cranked the vents and small chunks of this black foam-looking (very "airy" but VERY sticky) stuff came flying out at me. I removed my vent to find that crap all over them. Stuff would randomly fly out at me for a good week or two after that.

By the way - didn't say this earlier but I LOOOOOOOOVE 70's Chevy trucks!!!! Other than 70's Jeep trucks - the 70's Chevy trucks are definitely my favorite of any era.

Yeah me too. But I hate when people put the ugly 80's front clip on them. Or even worse the 90's beds

I bought this one for 2k a few years ago. Only thing wrong with it was an exhaust leak that was fixed with a new gasket. Since then I added full length headers, dual Thrushes, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap manifold, a Holly 750 double pumper and had the transmission rebuilt with a stage 1 shift kit. I plan to rebuild it into a 383 someday and regear it to 4.11s. New tires and wheels too since I don't care for the wheels on it now. But it's taken a back seat until after the Jeep is given some lovin'...so it'll be awhile lol.

Oh and you can see the old Dodge in there too. Got rid of it though.

Word... I hate it when people put Non-era grilles and stuff on cars/trucks in general though. Modding stuff is one thing - but completely changing something on a classic is just wrong.

That's AWESOME!!!! When I was looking for my J-truck I also looked at quite a few mid-70's Chevys... It always seemed like people around here either wanted a fortune for them because they were on decent to good condition or they'd beaten the p!$$ out of them and were completely peices of crusty rap for cheap. I did found a few C-10s for around 2-3K that I did like - but they were 2WD and automatics... (I NEED the ability for 4WD and I really don't like driving Autos..)

SE-E-EXY! Are you going to keep it white or are you going to do the classic two-tone? I LOVE the Chevy 70's paint schemes... I'm actually going to paint my J-truck just like a Chevy (black with the white "stripe" down the side - or just split black and white with black on top).

Do you get Hemmings? They had a 70's Chevy Buyer's guide for the Trucks and Blazers. It was a good article and gave a lot of good info on them. You probably don't need the info or anything - but since you have one of the trucks I figured I'd mention it - it'd be worth a check out.

Also... Do you live in MO or CA? The plates in the picture are throwing me off... Haha!

Is she leaking? Seems to be some fluid on the drive coming out of somewhere that wouldn't be an ac compressor.

I'm not sure yet about paint. I'm not going to worry about looks until after all the other stuff is done to make it run better/faster. The body is in pretty good shape except the dent on the front driver side fender which can probably be straigtened up easily. Or if needed i'll replace the fender when the time comes to do body work/paint. I was thinking about going with red...maybe have it match the Jeep lol.

My dad's K10 is the brown/tan two tone. And no I wasn't stuck...I was just temporarily immobile!!! >.>

I'm originally from cali and my first base was in cali. I'm currently stationed in Missouri.

That was tranny fluid I think. She doesn't leak now after the rebuild.
