We've got one that it's been around since the forties I worked there when I was way younger in Jr. High as a stove cleaner they use local wood and their stoves would get all covered in soot and ash

Back in my party hardy days in the District we used to end our outings with a NY big slice... no matter what time is was we'd crawl from the bars to grab a huge $3.00 piece (or two or four... depends on how drunk you were) that was bigger than your face! It was a must, and oh so good...

It didn't matter what happened around the shop, or where the drama was (there was always drama) you were there for the pizza! Cops busting people, don't care waiting for the pizza, rain on the line while your waiting outside, don't care waiting for the pizza, ladies yelling at each other for stealing "... MY man", shut up and yell somewhere else I'm waiting for the pizza, fights inside the shop, don't care time to step around the fight to get the pizza...

Cash in hand and hot pizza grease running off the paper plate hitting your cargos, burning your leg the edges of a humorously oversized slice hanging over the edges of the plate making it ridiculous to hold it in any conventional sense........ it was a moment of drunken victory!

So good. Of course we were usually drunk beyond belief so any piping hot piece of pizza would do...

Then one day I saw the remainders of a pie that we brought back with us in the morning... ugh. It was certainly the alcohol that made it so tasty

I was in Savannah in September, we went to a pizza place that sounds like they serve the same pizza, lol!!! Unfortunately, I was not drunk at that point!! It was still early afternoon!! But the smell was great and drew us in!
