You can't be happy when it is voted on and passed but be mad and argue we shouldn't vote on civil liberties when it is voted on to ban it.

I would also dare to say 30-50% of the people in Washington at the SCOTUS building would say we should put gun control up for a vote. That is restricting my right the same as banning gay marriage.

There is your hypocrisy you don't see.

Here are some facts we should be living by instead of involving the government in everything.

The 1st amendment to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights that prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

Marriage started as a religious commitment. Why are we now making laws on it? The first amendment says we shouldn't do that, and well some religions believe in gay marriage and you know what, if gays want to marry there. Be my guest, it really doesn't bother me.

If you are ok with trampling the first amendment, then let's look at this. Marriage, as a right, is a state right. Meaning the state gets to make it's own laws on marriage, why is the federal government now meddling in state business?

My point is, people are using the constitution when it is convenient to them. Stop it! Stop choosing when we should do something because it benefits you and say it's wrong when it doesn't go your way.

Simple fact is, Gay Marriage will be legal in this country, it is the future and only a matter of time. Get it over with! If it were voted on as a whole or even just in my state, I would vote to legalize it. It doesn't bother me. But as you have stated (and I agreed with) we should not vote or restrict rights/civil liberties. Maybe if we can get it over with and legalized, maybe just MAYBE we can start working on fixing bigger issues in America. Like our country failing financially or even ethically.

I hated the store sales. We would take my 4 wheeler, and pull the canoe on its trailer behind it full of boxes of cookies with music blaring and drive up and down the streets while girls tagged along on bikes, skate boards, etc... It was a HOOT!

I do have a zero tolerance on some things. I don't think gay couples should raise kids. Sorry, I just don't. Its not balanced for the childs sake and that is a psychological fact. People can bugger or marry who they want, marry a sheep if you want. Its your life and just make sure the sheep is of consenting age.

I think whalers and somali/asian "whomever" pirates should be sunk on sight. No negotiations, blow the shit out of the boat. Captives? Hostages...? I'm sorry but if I was one I'm not sure I would want to live after an hour of whatever they would do to me or my spouse. Not to mention they'd get the message real effing quick.

And there is more but I'll refrain.

I stand up for marriage equality 365 days a year, and it is days like this that the ugliest and most incurable of social diseases rear their ugly heads; I could say ignorance, but that is too easy. But I digress; Hey Mel!

Turbo said he's not against marriage of any sorts, nor did I obviously. His point is that fine, be gay..be married, its part of the constitution...life, liberty, pursuit of happiness and all that BS. Its that from a liberal standpoint they don't believe in freedom of speech if its against ANYTHING they are for. Libs don't like guns, thus you can't talk about guns or have a right to them.. This is example only btw. Conservatives...Marry who you want, we don't care, we want to talk about guns. If you don't like it leave the room..."So fred, what kinda ammo you like? Remington or Federal?"...adhoc etc. Everybody can talk about whatever the hell they want to. But you "Not you per se'" can't tell us what we can or can't talk about and we won't tell you either.

I certainly hope you are not refering to me, because if you are, you might want to learn to read, you know my post says I support gay marriage correct? I am saying we should NOT be picking and choosing when we should and shouldn't do something. Here let me make it easier for everyone to understand

The LGBT community cheered and celebrated when gay marriage was voted on and legalized in Vermont and Massachusetts. Basically, they went and asked mommy if it was ok, and she said it was.

Then comes along Mommy California, and she says no you are not recognized here. So then the LGBT community went running to Daddy Federal Government saying that mommy shouldn't have put it to a vote.

How can you be ok with voting for something as long as it goes your way, but then say we shouldn't vote on it because it didn't go your way.

Unfortunately it is showing more in gay marriage right now and that is the big issue (which it shouldn't be) of the day, therefore it is my example. All I am trying to say, is America, follow your constitution, make your government work for you, respect the process, and stop being Hippocrates!

Uhm... Hippocrates was an ancient Greek physician, where we get the hippocratic oath. Or you could have crates full of hippo's for all I know. I personally do not want to be a crate full of hippo.. sounds like something you'd find in a southern Walmart on Aisle 23.

No, for example. I think tossing midgets..or "People McNuggets" is wrong. But I don't believe its constitutionally wrong. If tossing People McNuggets leads to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Okay then. I just don't think its right for Ronald McDonald to put his backout tossing people mcnuggets. Then he'd have to see a Dr. and the treating physician would be hard put to adhere to his hippocratic oath in front of the press due to the humerus pressure put upon him. Just Sayin.
