Soooo, last week I decided to pick up Harmonica - and officially started playing Saturday... Had never touched one in my life until then. I must say, I'm pretty good for only a few days of practice under my belt. I can't wait to bust it out around the campfires this summer.

The carb was just rebuilt(so the guy says) my buddy told me it drove really well.....so I'm hoping that's true.
I figured fluid change, plugs, wires, distributor, belts.....anything else?

Oh! Nice! Well, that works! Depending on the kind if ignition system/Distributor - it might be worth it to upgrade... Do you know if it was still points or had they started the Pertronics (sp?) in those years yet? Either way, if you got the money - I'd suggest upgrading to an MSD electronic ignition system like I did... It'll give you a major boost in reliability and performance and will require a lot less maint. down the road. Just a suggestion... Haha!

No, he's been practicing...a lot. I only choked him out once. I looked like Kevin James in Here Comes The Boom.

I have the Rocksmith Guitar game for Xbox...I've only played it twice.

Haha! Funny! Though I doubt it looked THAT bag!

I think you told me about that before when I was trying to learn guitar for like the 5th time. Isn't that the one where you play real guitar but it's somehow hooked to the game like Rockband and Guitar Hero?

Lucky! We went downtown and messed around on the college campus, then down to the river, did some rock hopping, now out in the country at a random ass boat ramp lol

According to BJs Offroad, 1978-91 came with Electronic ignitions systems with a contol module as well... Now, if you want to upgrade your ignition system from there you might want to look up the "Team Rush Upgrade" - the V8 version... It'll be cheaper while giving you a boost in perfomance... Or you can go all out and replace the Dist.with a hig performance Dist. and the module with a CDI module. But that'll be A LOT more expensive..

Phil,

this might give you some ideas of "Upgrade" Dist. ideas from BJs if you decide not to go the "Team Rush" route...

View Electrical Parts \\ Ignition Parts at http://www.bjsoffroad.com

EDIT:
I went with the MSD "Ready to Run" - but that's only because I was upgrading from Breaker Points and didn't want to mess with re-wiring the whole harness to support a CDI/Ignition module.

Ronnie, there's more than one way and none of them are easy. It depends basically how much effort you want to put into them. I'm pming you a few youtubes that should help.

The Team Rush is pretty cheap. Basically just the cost of "upgraded" maint. parts for your Dist. and then maybe a module upgrade if you feel like going that far.

I believe the Ready To Run one allowed you to have the option of adding a CDI module or not... Since your Waggy already runs off a module, you'll probably need to keep it. Now that I think about it, if I were you, I'd try the Team Rush and then upgrade to a CDI module down the road. The stock modules are notorious for failing at the worst times...
