Nice! haha! I figured it woldn't be TOO hard... But I also didn't want to be overconfident in thinking that.

I'm not very good at the more complex math like Differential equations and what-not... I don't think I would do very well going back to school for programming. Depending on the type of programming, I suppose... I USED TO BE pretty good a programming and was a Software engineer starting college but couldn't pass Diffy Q so I had no option but to switch...

You should probably go there knowing how to read a micrometer ...and calipers up to 5 places. Depending on what parts are made.

Also know tap and die sizes metric and standard. Heck you can down load an app to study it.

Did you go back to school for programming?

Thanks for the heads up!
I've used calipers before for measuring sizes of bolt holes and what-not... I know my Dad gave me a "pocket" one, one time - though I'm not quite sure where I put it... I can't say I've done any real precision work with it... But I have used one before! Micrometer, on the other had, I have not used...

I've used tap and dies before for re-threading - actually did a lot of that when "restoring" my YJ! What do you mean by know the sizes? Don't they tell you on them?? The ones I used were marked...

I learned about machining working in a pattern shop. Learned on a manual bridgeport mill. And a enko manual lathe. They probably won't use those in a cnc shop. Lmao...that's old school

Ahhh! I see I see. I saw something about "G-code" when I was looking over some CNC stuff online. I've never heard of that programming language - if that's even what it is - so it may be something that's more specialized... I don't know.

Who knows? Maybe I can just get really good at it and they'd promote me without going to school? (Wishful thinking) As you've maybe noticed... I'm a REALLY fast learner!

Oooh! haha! Yeah, you're probably right. Especially if you say that those are old school. Haha! All that they use - or at least all I'll be using - are CNC and manual mills. So I suppose the same style of manual mill that you used is a possibility...The company makes tools and woodworking equipment.

I WISH that was the case here! It rained for about 4 days straight and then turned straight into (no break in precip.) snow and has officially been snowing for 24 hours with a couple hours of light to no snowfall... Last evening... I'm pretty sure we've officially gotten more snow in MAY (and it's only 3 days in) than we got in JANUARY.

Hopefully! I'm kind of excited about the new opportunity - but a the same time kind of disappointed in myself for not sticking to the career field I got my degree in... *shrugs*

Whatever pays more and has the best benefits, right?

Brian... I think I remember him... What was his username again? For some odd reason I feel like his name was part of his username or something...

haha! Hey now! Don't dawg the puffed wheat! I couldn't tell you why - I honestly don't know - but ever since I can remember my favorite cereal was Smacks - the flavored puffed wheat with the frog on the box. they make your milk taste like coffee... haha! Hahaha!

I'm also the type that pours a bowl of cereal and lets it sit on the counter for 15 minutes before I eat it... I like soggy cereal...

I also really like Lucky Charms - I eat all the cereal pieces and save the marshmallows for last!

Favorite cereals and favorite ways to eat them - GO!
