I have, I don't really want to spend $300-$400 on a bumper lol Just seems OUTRAGEOUS to me. They are all made of the same steel. You are paying for the name.

It's untested.....it started raining, right after the pics were taken. I hope to give it a full test, Sunday thru Wednesday. It should do fine. I built it as close to the spider shade as I could. As for the sewing, I'm a man of many talents....what can I say? Lol!

EDIT:
I've been looking at the Quadratec QRC bumper - but I totally agree with you... It does seem outrageous... And it seems like it... The name and convenience...

But believe it or not - that (or most major manufacturer's) steel is some decent grade stuff - which CAN be expensive. I bought a 5' X 3" X 3/8" piece of 1095 steel for about $100.. Think of that thinned out to a tube and it wouldn't be much bumper... Or tube for that matter.. You can get weld steel for pretty cheap - but unless you have access to bulk it's still going to be $150-ish at least for steel alone...

You CAN - and I stress the can - have one custom fabricated for probably less depending on what people run in your area for that kind of work or if you know someone with the right equipment and who's a good welder - but most of the time that doesn't include the paint job and possible "accessories" (D-rings and what-not) that come with the bumper from a manufacturer - which, even so, you could probably all do yourself for less... Just depends on who you know and how much work you want to put into it. *shrugs*

Ah! I see... That sucks that it started raining...

I'm interested to hear how it handles the highway. I'm sure it'll do great! It looks like it's "tight" enough.

hahaha! Evidently! Who knew?

Facebook is stupid. The only reason I keep it is for contacts. I rarely if ever check it... But I've never seen THAT! I feel sorry for you...

I keep facebook primarily to piss people off. Unfortunately they are all as warped as I am so we end up with lots of laughs.

Do you have enough to do on your Jeep to keep you busy?
Maybe that could be the silver lining?

Not really.
My jack broke so can't do much.
The rest that needs to be done requires money. Which I won't have now probably.
