Look at 16-17" rims and 285 70 17s or 285 75 16s

I absolutely cannot stand those big knobby looking tires on 15" rims.

I like the mud terrain style tires, but need the all terrain tire because of the amount of driving I do daily.

And I like a thinner sidewall because to me its more sporty than rugged. If its considered 'mall crawler', well then hell, I guess I'll own that. But those big thick tires just aren't my style.

That's cool I can understand that but when you sit on here and say how things are too expensive I'm trying to give you cheaper alternatives that's all. And I'm telling ya look at Goodyear duratracs they are by far the best AT tire on the market and appear to look more like at MT

I don't like the thinner sidewall(not b/c I rock crawl, I just don't)

Things aren't too expensive, I'm just broke! LOL I'm not broke, but I did just pay off all my credit cards, so I'm ZERO in debt and its painful to have to drop $1500/$2000 for tires/wheels because I WANT them.... i certainly dont NEED them.

I've been looking at the duratracs, but I've found them to be one of the most expensive tires there are. They are in the "best" category on DTD.

I haven't looked into the Cooper's though. I'll check them out.

Hey I haven't bought new tires and rims for the same reason. I'm crushing with my stock ones till idk how long. Probably until I start to hate them with my lift lol

Right!

I guess if I had the money to do the lifts, and the suspension, and the everything else maybe my tastes would be different. And when you're on a budget, there's a fine line between a vehicle that LOOKS together, and one that lookes PIECED together.

I like my stock wheels... I just want a wider tire, so as I understand it I have to go with less backspacing.. which is why I'm looking at stuff 4.5" or less.

Get a set of spidertrax spacers. There will be a lot of people that are against them. I don't see a problem as long as they are torqued to spec and you check them when ever you rotate your tires

Agree with Phil I like the stock rims I have and I'm getting wheel spacers too. Just make sure they're on right and are checked often

With the amount of driving I do, and the speed at which I drive, eliminating any unecessary safety risk is a priority.

For all intensive purposes... my jeep is on the highway 99.5% of the time. It's seen the beach once since I bought it, and its been to the farm in Louisiana once as well.

But this is the first summer that I've had it, so I dont know how much camping and stuff we'll be doing. When we had the 2003 back when, we went down to the Guadalupe and camped quite often.

There isn't a safety issue if you check them with your tire rotation and keep them to spec
If I ever actually get to do mine how I want, I will get spidertrax

I just bought 2 27w (2150 Lumens each) LED lights. I bought it from the same company I bought my rock lights from. It's just for the bumper for beach driving during red drum season (drum are scared of light so people drive around with no head lights, I can point these at the ground and be fine.) and for when I need light but not a qazillion watts

I thought about it for a good while, but in the end I decided that I probably don't want to chance it. I have a fear of a wheel shearing off at 70mph and causing me to end up rolling end over end in 5 o'clock traffic and exploding into a ball of flames.
