Tom how's your jeep coming along? Fix the steering wheel?
Not yet, thought they ran out of threads, they only have it half way out. But I have a shimy now too. Slight but there

Also I don't know why people say 35s make their Jeep a dog. I can still get up and go just fine on the freeway. I don't even feel the need to regear. I get none of the symptoms people claim...loss of power, loss of OD, etc.

Yeah I was talking to a local who has the exact same rig as mine but with 35's. Says its just a little more sluggish and his mpgs took a hit but he can still do 140 and has enough left to get out and pass if he needed to.

I think some of these people must have never drove any other 4x4 and are used to 2k pound lightweight cars that get 25mpg...

I think a lot are thinking of the 3.8's. Our 3.6's have almost 100 more hp.

That's good

I feel like one can't make a generalized statement about 35's and when to regear. There are just too many factors at play; wheel weight, tire weight, engine, stock ratio, et al.

You were smart and got the 35 km2's with a 15" alloy, which, IIRC, is only, like, 10 or so lbs heavier than stock.

I have the 3.8 and 4 speed auto...

And the 3.6 really isn't that much more powerful than the 3.8 in real world usage. They took those HP numbers from high RPMs which most of the time you rarely even see. In normal RPM ranges I think it's more like 20 HP more than the 3.8. The biggest difference between the 07-11 and 12+ is the 4 speed vs 5 speed auto trannys

Truth, it isn't until over, what, 4000 rpm that you see a significant hp difference.
