Financially exhausting...

When we looked into it about 10 years ago it was easier for gay couples to adopt internationally - which usually cost anywhere from $35K to $100K. Domestic adoptions were barely heard of and required years of jumping through hoops.

I haven't looked into it recently, and I know that domestic adoptions have become a little easier, but its still a highly expensive process.

Hello to you too sweetpea.

If you've slept at all, it's early. If not, it's late...

It's been really busy! I'm moving some more stuff tomorrow and trying to tie loose ends at the old apartment after work. I need a nap first though.

Yes and usually domestic adoptions take years and years if you want to adopt a baby because the demand is so high... In Canada it's that way... I co worker was in the "system" for over 10 years and finally adopted a 5 year old girl after all... Cause it still wpuldve been years and a girl she knew still waited and once it was her "turn" they said if would be in the babies best interest to go with another family cause they were getting "old" to start with a baby.

!! So expensive.

It's a damn shame that people who would really love and cherish a child, have such a hard time having / adopting them...

I know right some couples try and try for years and no luck and then you see some who had like 5 abortions. Life is so unfair.

Yes, it is.

...its also a damn shame that people are allowed to drink and drug and keep them.

County just responded to a drunk and pregnant female who was trying to DRIVE because she was fighting with her boyfriend. THATS the kinda sh!t that really gets me mad.

Exactly. Or even worse, parents who neglect / abuse their children...or drink / do drugs while pregnant. I did my pediatric clinicals in Baltimore city and saw it all the time...so unfair.

I never wanted kids...mostly because I saw all the birth defects caused by the experimental crap the military gave everyone when they deployed. I was terrified any kids I might have would have problems...luckily that never happened.

I know... I work with kids on long term ventilators and its scares the heck out of me that someday I could have a kid in that situation.
