My great uncle Watson used to make the best you'd ever taste. He lived in central Georgia and would cook it in a crock in the yard over an open flame. He'd just find a stick in the yard to stir it, and I never dared ask what was in it.

That I could've dealt with. He certainly used rabbit, squirrel, and pig... probably some other stuff you really wouldn't want to know you were eating, cause then it's just tasty dark meat.

Kris, try it next time you're cooking chili, take 1 piece of white bread, break it up nicely (not huge chunks) and add in it when you're simmering, makes a little thicker, and adds a little sweetness

We're having meat stew tonight. They call it chilli, but it has beans, so it isn't.

If cowboys on the trail and poor people back could have had the luxury of beans they certainly would have put them in their chili. Beans make chili better

I don't know how you all can stand working nights. Did it when I was early 20s cause the money was good at the time. Sure as he'll could not have done it after the kids came along.
