This Land Is Our Land

This is an actual radio conversation between a United States Navy aircraft carrier (U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln) and Canadian authorities off the coast off Newfoundland in October 1995. (The radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on 10/10/95 as authorized by the Freedom of Information Act.)CANADIANS:Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.AMERICANS:Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.CANADIANS:Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.AMERICANS:This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.CANADIANS:No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.AMERICANS:This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln. The second largest ship in the United States Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers, and numerous support vessels. I demand that you change your course15 degrees north...I say again...That's one-five degrees north.... or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship!CANADIANS:We are a lighthouse. Your call

Don't know if its true but it sure is funny

That is pretty funny

You'd think they would be aware that they were close to grounding their ship, maybe not. I wonder how the rest of that conversation went...

FWIW I have heard that same radio exchange type of thing before, only it was a "Russian sub", and a lighthouse up in Maine I think it was....and it was from the early '70s.....IDK if either one is true with the GPS and map coordinates etc...I find it hard to believe that it has happened that recently......in the '90s but I know better than to say it never happened.....

Hopefully 60 more is all, problem is I can feel that side getting weaker, and I can't "exercise" because of broken bones (finally found out it was 4 pieces) so yeah 60 before I can start using it and IDK how much range of motion and strength I will have...

physio and hard work will help you regain it. But its a process. I think my fingers took a year before they felt right.....I had full recovery within two months but probably a year before I never had the think about them kinda thing.....if that makes sense to you.

Yeah I get that...saw what mom went through after her stroke PT and exercises...just not sure I can put life on hold that long....thought initially I would be back to work first of the year......now they are saying 1-24-13 MAYBE!!! It is the maybe part that has me concerned.....thought this would be a quick thing like a broken arm 4-6 weeks back to normal...I was very mistaken....
