lessons learned

Hey all just want to know some of the lessons you have learned with your jeep. Because just the other day i was driving home, at like mid-night, on the highway going about 60 and went to shift and nothing happened, it would not get in gear ( its a manual trans) so i had to coast of the first exit which was in the best of neighborhoods and call a tow truck, needless to say i am not sure what is wrong with my jeep but it was an interesting time waiting for the tow truck hearing police sirens and all sorts of. I can not wait to get it fixed and get it ready for some real adventures on the trails. lesson learned that night, have a tow truck number on speed dial and always have some cash for the tow!!

That happened to me when my clutch master was going. I ha to tripe clutch to get it in gear, no tow truck needed!

I am hoping the problem is just my clutch and not the transmission .... glad to know someone else had the same issue

check the clutch fluid level, should be located near the master brake cylinder..

Check out this thread http://www.wranglerforum.com/f8/clut...ue-163848.html , I think were all in the same boat, you did most likely loose hydraulic pressure which when lost would not activate the throwout/release bearing which depresses the clutch disc.....could be master cylinder, hydraulic lines/fittings or thowout/release bearing.
