Let's Build a WF Jeep.

We are starting with a Red 2005 Wrangler Sport, bone stock. Use this thread to suggest mods that will make "our" WF Wrangler a primo offroad rig.

Y'all remember, we have to come to a concensus on each step along the way. It's a WF group effort.

Discuss away!!!

Sure - strip it down -then how 'bout we ditch the D30 and D35 and throw on some Dynatrac Hi-Pinion Pro Rock 60s with 5.13 gears, and ARB lockers. That should give us all the strength we need and the option of running 37s - or bigger.

D2BS, is this your Jeep? With everybody suggesting things to upgrade, this is going to be a wallet buster.

Nope, it is a "virtual" WF Jeep. A build for the forum that we all participate in.

I will suggest square headlights when we get there, though!!!

If you're going 106" then we need to design a decent roll cage, some flat fenders (Has anyone ever designed a set of high-line tube fenders?) and we'll have to comp cut it... We'll need to put the fuel cell up inside the tub. We'll need a decent pair of seats with 5 point harnesses... And Atlas T-case would be cool... Ooooh, and those neat-o bullet hole stickers all over the back and drivers side!

Sorry - I'll go hang out in another thread...

I would add a highline kit of some sort. Keep the COG down a little lower. Not sure how low it could be on 40s though.

And cain - I can't remember who it was, but at the off-road expo in Pomona I was tlaking quite a bit with a vendor who had some really sweet highline tube fenders.

Agreed. As experienced Jeepers we need a more substantial platform to start with such as the YJ.

Hmmmm 23 posts and you have reached consensus on absolutely nothing! Not even the platform to start with. While this virtual build was an interesting idea, I can believe you didn't see this coming.

I can see it now:

post 10,954: "It's agreed then, we start with a teal YJ. Now we have to agree on what year"

post 11,893: "It's agreed then, we start with a black TJ......"

A thread built for posts hogs?

Seems to be a completely sensible idea...

and yes, I should have known that the air freshener would have been at the top of our build list.

Cain, GenRight makes a set of sweet "highline" tube fenders that require the hoodsides to be cut down. The guys from JP magazine have a project called "The No Lift on 40's" or something to that effect. They added those fenders and they do look sweet, adding for tons of uptravel while still keeping the COG low.

So I'm with Ccain, I vote we start from the front and work our way back. That seems to make sense. Let's start with round headlights, shall we?
