i want to see if my towns mayor is a complete dingleberry or not
1. in twenty years more jobs have left that have come

2.we were gonna have a coal gassifacation plant like 10 yr ago all we have is an unfinished concrete slab.

3. and we had an ethonole plant but with 6 lakes for city water we didnt have enough and we are building a 7th for no reason cause the plant is shuttered.

Don't you guys make like every manhole cover in America already?

Anyone in the same office for 20 years AND is ineffective needs to go. Anyone without any upward mobility for that length of time is a tool.

i dont think we make thoes here thats mansfield an hour east. no we made trains and cranes and curently make the M1A1 abrams look us up Lima ohio

Sounds like there are some "county" issues here as well. If all this stuff is going on inside the city limits then, yeah... Your mayor is a tool.

Mayors, however, don't have any authority over the county commission. If it's a small community, then I would suggest getting involved by setting in on public hearings, voting when you can and becoming active on boards and any community meetings.

I'm not being a douche here, but I've always said, everybody want's to jump on the band wagon but, nobody want's to drive the damned thing.

you should come here we are a city of 40 thousand give or take a few dead drug dealers south of Kibby st. our county aint much better off than the city and nobody gets along at all imagin that and every one whos in govt here has stayed there for 10 yearr min nobody can change anything cause you cant get fresh blood in the herd

Geesh, sounds EXACTLY like my old hometown in West Virginia. Must be an "east of the Mississippi" thing.

i dono we get wanna be thugs doin drive bys some kid got shot in the face at BW3 then got out of the hospitial and his house got molitive cocktails for an after dinner drink cain you should look us up some time when you head east of the big muddy

You live in an area that has been repeatedly smacked upside the head by the economy, by manufacturing leaving the US, by a decline in heavy industry, by a decline in the automotive industry.

The entire country is in bad shape, but the rust belt is worse.

Not certain you can blame a city mayor for these issues.

Still sounds better off than Detroit.

I live in a relatively small town , around 35,000 or so. Our economy and industry are going down the toilet. One of our biggest plants (Rheem) just closed last week. They make air conditioners and stuff. That has just about demolished us. 3 or our 5 state prisons shut down as well. That's mostly the states (prisons) and greedy business owners (Rheem) fault that it's going so bad. And like Geoff says "Sounds better than Detroit"! This thread reminded me of some Cleveland tourism videos I watched on You-Tube a while back. Hilarious!!!

The mayor of Riverside (I work there) is a liberal College professor, so he has spent millions on homeless shelters and parks. Now we have attracked bums from Los Angeles to Arizona. The homeless shelter is full of stinky drunks and the parks have all the registered sex offenders that arn't allowed in the homeless shelter....woohoo! My tax dollars hard at work.
