It wasn't too bad. Wouldn't be my first choice, but not bad if it's the only thing available.

Switched to this stuff about a year or so ago. I've had to spend less on my beer and this stuff runs at .99 cents for a 24oz can. 3 cans a night minus 7 nights this year.

8 dollars a beer. I'm staring at it, scared to drink it.

Terrapin also just released their once-a-year limited edition Wake-n-Bake, one of my favorite stouts. It normally flies off the shelves at Total Wine, gone in a couple of days and you don't see it again until the next year. So I tracked it like a crazy person this year and bought a bunch of it before it was gone.

LOVE WNB, but Terrapin just sold 25% of their company to Miller Coors

It's awesome. It's really, really good. I'm not a fan of imported beer at all, but this one is excellent.

Trying Ommegangs Adoration Special Winter Ale tonight. Favorites lately have been Rogues Santas Private Reserve, Sierra Nevada N.Hemisphere Harvest (stocked up until next season!), Shiner Cheer, Bells Two Hearted & NB Snow Day. Looking forward to Big Foot 2012 (have my cases reserved!) I've been buying more than drinking lately since Oklahoma isn't a very beer friendly state so we don't get a lot of the good beers or breweries. We do have a few local breweries turning out some very nice brews lately though.

Oh yes. Sipping beers! The Belgians, doubles, triples & quads aren't my favorite types but I still try them. Two Hearted is one of my favorites but I have to bring it back from Missouri since we can't get it in OK.

My go-to any day beer would be Coors Lite or Stella (both are always stocked in the fridge).

My like to haves:
Stone Brewery Arrogant Bastard
Leffe
Duvel
Chimay (Red or Blue label)
Smithwicks

But when I can get it, I prefer to have New Belgium Brewery's Sunshine Wheat.

What the heck are you drinking over there?

The Belgians made famous singels, dubbels and tripels - the only "quad" I know if is when you're had too many tripels and you're crawling around on all fours.

Crown Royal is indeed a fine drink - and we could probably start a separate thread on blended whiskies, how to enjoy them, etc.

For me, it all depends on what you're after. For me, enjoying whiskey = sipping & savoring. And that for me is Maker's Mark, a rocks glass, 3 ice cubes, pour to cover (YMMV)

But for flavor, complexity and versatility - nothing holds a patch to beer. With all the different malts, varieties of hops, strains of yeast, types of brewing methods - the possibilities are limitless. So whether it's sipping & savoring, pairing with a fine meal, chasing down a pizza or just pounding cold ones with buddies - there's (more than one) beer that will do the job admirably.

Compared to all that...well, as much as I enjoy it, whiskey is kind of one-dimentional...

I've met that "quad" a few times. But, Three Philosophers or The Reverend (Avery) would be a couple other quads I've met. Still not my first picks though, but on a cold night with a roaring fire....good times.

Not much of a whiskey drinker but since it was brought up, Crown Cask No.16....Mmmmm, mmmmmm good! Finally opened a bottle that was given to me a couple years ago, very nice.

Well slap me naked and call me Shirley...you learned me something today. Thanks guys!

I couldn't find Quadupel in my reference books but it popped right up in wikipedia...

Quadrupel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Looked up Three Philosophers - looks tasty! Might have to try my hand at making that...I've got a regular cherry lambic aged & bottled right now that turned out quite well...

Sam Adams Winter
A variety of Sea Dog beers (raspberry, blueberry, apricot etc.)

All were good

One large glass of ice. Can of BUD, tomato juice over ice. Salt to taste! Hard to beat. Goes great to chase down shots of patron also.
