Lil Earthquake!!

Just had a little seismic surfing here in So Cal. Initial reports say 509 near San Diego, in the Anza Borrgeo area. Means the trails are now different. Gotta go back, woo hoo!!!

Edit: getting a series of quakes. A couple of 3.+ and 4.+. Just registered a 5.7. Guess I will just see what else the evening brings.

Jeff

That would be them. So far they news is saying 18 aftershocks since the large one. I have only felt the first one.

Yep I felt it upstairs in my house. Odd though that my wife who is normally scared of even mild earthquakes, didn't notice it downstairs. Good thing, they upset her. Maybe that was because she was watching The Bachelorette so intently, which is why I was upstairs on my computer.

Lasted for a good 30 to 45 seconds. Rolling kind that tests your sea legs. Not too bad, but longer lasting than usual.

I live in Orlando so hurricanes are my natural disaster of choice (we don't even throw a party unless it is a category 4 or higher), but I so want to feel an earthquake!

There you are. Takes an earth quake to get you to take a break. Good roller. This one was wierd though. I did not hear this one coming. No rumble what so ever.

We had a decent one here in Georgia a few years back.. didn't cause much damage. I missed it (I was living in Arkansas), but it shook my parents out of the bed. Of course they lived on the side of a huge hill at the time. Glad you're okay. Happy wheeling.

Edit: I just looked it up and it was actually an Alabama quake.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Alabama_earthquake

I guess it was a decent size one if my parents felt it in Calhoun, GA..

I couldn't imagine living where they are common.. I think I'd be paranoid. We have a lot of bridges here in Rome.. 3 Rivers and even one collapsed bridge would be a disaster..

Time to get a snorkel for when Cali falls into the ocean! Sadly if I were out there and had it happen while driving the jeep I would have just thought it were a new wobble!

I was living in San Francisco during Loma Prieta. Definitely an E-ticket. We had aftershocks for months.

Ah, I take plenty of breaks, my time is just being divided a little differently these days.

You don't really feel them that much when you're driving. I'm missed a couple my parents said were pretty intense because I was on my way somewhere.

Alaska's really been rocking and rolling the past 24 hours.

I thought I felt a jolt last night at my apartment in Anchorage. It felt like someone ran into the building with a car.

I'd rather be at work if the big one hits - the VA is designed for a 7.5 IIRC. There are two huge seismic struts 10 feet behind me
