Simple man is always my go too. But seriously anything recorded with the pre plane crash original band is just awesome.

I have seen the current touring band live twice and for only having one original member they put on a great show. A awesome party band. Drink some beers and have a good time.

'All I Can Do Is Write About It'

"You can take a boy out of Ol' Dixieland, Lord, but you'll never take Ol' Dixie from a boy"

Ronnie Van Zant was buried about 5 minutes from my house until some asshats vandalized his grave.
My favorite song is probably simple man. They played it at my friends funeral. Every time I hear it it reminds me of him.

If you like Skynard check out Drive By Truckers. A ton of great stuff but specifically listen to Southern Rock Opera. It's about Skynard and that era.

I recommend at least tracks: southern thing, 3 great Alabama icons, Ronnie and Neil, angels and fuselage. All from that album.

For Ronnie Skynyrd my favorite is "That Smell." For post Ronnie/Johnny I would say "Still Unbroken."

Curtis Lowe and 3 Steps (mostly because I've been in almost that exact situation)
