Man it's HOTTER then H***

So I've been listening to the news reports of late and it seems there's a bit of a heat wave going on in the South and East. Here in Northern California it was a lovely 82 degrees the last few day.

How hot is it where you are? And what are doing to coooool off?

Top on or off?

Im in the Dallas area and the past week we've been between 100 and 104. Add in the humidity and the index is more like 110! Top is definitely on and will remain that way until the fall.

Here in NC, it was 100 today with a heat index of 105. Humidity is oppressive. Showers pop up in moments, announced by the weather channels. Ugh. I usually tro to ride with the doors off/softtop ON but windows off unless it rains sideways (like tonight) so I can get a breeze. AC not much help this time of year, unless you keep all windows zipped/doors on. I am looking forward to fall!

I'm from the Austin area.

To escape the 105 degree beating.

I fled to Seattle and spent the day on a lovely 61 degree Mt. Rainier. Tomorrow...Seafest airshow...Saturday...more cool stuff...Tuesday....back to the heat

about 90 or so, with high humidity. It sucks when you have to work outside in it everyday. Thats why I'm in love with the JK and its air conditioned, hard top covered cabin. Crank that AC up!!

If the sun is shining the top and doors are off. We went through a stretch a couple of weeks ago where the temperature was over 100. It's not bad when you're moving!

So hot and air so thick with humidity you grow gills and swim through it. Had to take my work boots and put them under my van hood on the hot motor to dry overnight. My wallet is like a sponge all my bills are stuck together so when I stop to purchase a cold drink I pay with sloppy ass sweat money and the cashiers don't want to touch it. Get home to cool off and jump into pool water 98 degrees.

The temps have been in the high 90s with the index being well over 100. I'm still running with no doors or top, but did put the bikini on after sitting in traffic with my mirror showing this reading.

Central Kansas at the beginning of the week was 109* with a heat index of 119*. Two days in a row. It got to a heat index of 111* on Wednesday and we just figured a cold front was coming through!!! It's only been 104*-106* yesterday and today, so it looks like the heat wave is gone. Top and doors are off the Jeep, but it sits in the garage on days like this. I drive my Ranger during the day, then take my Jeep out once the sun goes down. This 36 year old body has seen enough heat to last a friggin' lifetime. Thinking I'm going to move NORTH once I finish with all my aviation schooling.......

I'm in Phoenix, AZ here and it has been pretty cool for the past few days. However the temp. is going up past 110 in the nest couple of days, I had my thermometer read 117 in my jeep about a month ago, needless to say that my top was on...

Typical summer here in Central Texas.....maybe even a bit cooler overall. We didn't get any 100 deg. days here northwest of Austin until this past weekend. Some summers we have a string of 30, 45, 60 days above 100 deg. And it's a WET heat!

It's been "cooling" off here in North Georgia.. mid 90's this week. With the humidity it's the heat index that's killing us... it's been in the 100's.

It is usually 110 in the desert. Top on AC high. Sorry but when I get into the Jeep and teh temp reads 120... I'm turning on the AC.

Then again, I am the guy who drives up to the mountain in 30degree weather in a t-shirt with the windows down and I LOVE it. I should not be living in the desert... I'm winter blooded.

It has been over 90 every day in Central NC for the past 54 days! Soft top on with back windows out, doors are on but only because of the showers that pop up out of no where! Couple awesome storms the past 2 nights. Not too worried about getting the back seat wet.

It's somewhere in the 70's here in San Diego, maybe 80 if we're lucky. This is the coldest summer here something like 90+ years. So much for global warming.

Yeah it's hot and guess what? It tends to happen every year. Sack up pansies and think of it as preparation for your eternity! I guess living here and working and playing outside I'm just used to it. My neighbors across the street are new here from Maine and I rarely see them or their kids outside anymore and when I do, all they do is bitch about the heat. Of course I'd have to sack up if I ever felt real cold.

So me? Top down for sure..Hell my Jeep's ac has been broken for over a year any damn way. Don't let it stop you. There IS life out there.

Lately it's been around mid 70's in Vermont, but it has been cooling off to low 60's in the evening.

I'm sweaty too. Hell I'm sweating five minutes out the shower. It's a fat thing
And my wallet has butt mold growing on it.
Lately I've taken to freeballing and hanging my leg out the jeep to keep cool.
You just got to prepare for the heat.

South Carolina weathermen just love talking about the heat index, which in the Charleston area has been around 108 to 110 (according to them) most all summer. Really humid this year. Personally, if they say it feels like 110, it's 110. I just don't get this heat index crap. I myself enjoy the dry desert heat in Iraq. 115 to 120 feels fine with me.
