Man people SUCK!!!

So here's the deal, I'm selling some of my Fairlane parts in order to fund the project a little more. I'm going with a later model 302 and C4. Therefore, I have the old engine and trans. The old engine and trans uses a fairly rare 5 bolt set up. Ford used a 5 bolt engine and trans from 62 to 64 only. Trying to find a 5 bolt small block Ford block and bell housing is difficult to say the least. And, as with parts that are hard to find, the prices can be rather high.

I put up an ad on Craigslist for my block, all it's parts and the transmission. I am asking $250 for the works. $250 is cheap because I've seen just the bell housing go for well over $300.

So, I get this email last night:

I have been rebuilding transmissions for over 38 years. did all ford stock for one of the largest rebuilders here in OC for my first 8 years.. I can pay with paypal if you take it.. thanks
To which I replied:

Thanks
So I forgot about it and went to bed.

This morning I get this email:

WTF?! I guess he thought I was some dumbass kid who didn't know what he had. What has he been doing for years? Ripping people off and then laughing it off like the behavior is acceptable?! Not cool! And NO, I don't need your help AND I'm NOT voting for your brother. If he's a scumbag like you then I don't need him as my Sheriff!

Sorry, just had to rant!

Chris

Please tell me you responded with something like that. What a schmuck. I've got an old Harley sitting around that I haven't done anything with for a few years after getting a new one and put it up a while back on Craigslist and had a similar experience with some dipshit offering me a $1000 bucks for it . . . I could part the thing out and probably get 3x that. It's bad enough that they come and try to low ball you, but I love the feeble attempts to convince you that what you have is basically crap and worth practically nothing . . . but they sure want it.

Yes, take your frustration out on his brother. I would!

This behavior probablly runs in his family. If his dad was an asshle he inherited one.

I'm all for buyer/seller beware. But to flat out lie to a seller or buyer in an attempt to rip them off is the kind of behavior we should have all been taught as children was wrong. Dishonesty is a cancer in this world and him thinking his attempt to cheat someone was something to simply "lol" about makes me sick.

Oh, and I'm seriously considering contacting sheriff Sniff to let him know he may want to ask his dear brother to stop campaigning for him.

Just run against him for sheriff and let the voters know his family is crooked. "I'm running because your brother is a thief, surely must run in the family."

I would seriously send a anonymous email and let him know. Although a quick google search would show this thread...
