Mark Selby

I heard this guy on the radio the other night headed home from working on my junk. I was floored by this one song titled, "More storms comin"

Give it a listen.

Not bad. Kind of a jazz/blues feel.

I'm a big blues freak. I like to listen to the root of music. I believe most of todays music is jazz and blues oriented. I've been to many concerts. There have only been 2 that made me feeling eclectic. Rage Against the Machine live at Sandstone and every jazz concert I've ever been to. I went to see the Count Basie Orchestra live at the KState auditorium. I left feeling revived so I really enjoy this kind of music.

Rage is definitely an interesting show to see. I think I was at that show you mentioned at Sandstone too.

The one show I left thinking about more was seeing NIN down in Topeka when I was still living there. Trent Reznor is an individual that has a lot of layers to him.

To bad you all can't get KC stations down there in Wichita. Lindsay Shannon does a great blues show on Sunday nights.

Funny you should mention NIN. I'm listening to NIN right now. To restate what I said above, I enjoy music that is outside everything else. For instance, I can't listen to a "hip hop" station without hearing the same song 5 times in a row. NIN will always be outside the box.

RATM at Sandstone was 95. I pulled my ticket stub out of my box of memorabilia.

Yup, then we chewed the same turf bro. I was a senior in 95 and hit just about every good concert in town that year.

Ah, you want a decent rap group then check out Delinquent Habits. It's produced by Sen Dog from Cypress. Being out here we have a slight leaning to the latino side of things and I'm appreciating their style of rap/hip hop more and more over the typical gang banger shit.

That's awesome. I have all of RATMs albums and most of them are so worn out they won't play in my deck. If you listen to their 92 album it is completely ahead of anything else in my opinion!

I hear rumor they might actually tour again this year. I think they are playing Cochella.

Edit: Check that. They already played at Coachella this year. It was at the end of April.

I heard that same rumor. But it is only for one show. I've heard the other rumor that they will only play that show and be done with it.

There were 10k seats available. They packed 99,997 from reports at the radio station.

Andy, I did some reading and it actually looks like RATM is going to play like 4 more shows this year. They are going to play two in NYC at some festival and then play 2 more in Ca. One in San Bernadino and then one in SanFran. Might have to go over for the San Bern show.

I don't really like their politics, but I love their music. However I'm hoping that they are doing this for the actual reasons they say and not just to make a few bucks because Cornell bailed on Audioslave.

In my opinion that was the best thing that could have ever happened to Audioslave. Once RATM bit the dust there was some good talk about who would be the replacement. I shunned myself when I heard it was Cornell. I really enjoy Soundgarden still but couldn't stand Audioslave. The band, minus Cornell, is capable of so much more!
