Merry F'ing Christmas America

Asswipes like the Big 3 and the financial institutions are all getting bank rolled on our backs. Meanwhile hard working Americans are loosing their jobs. It's not bad enough the company I was working for was acquired and shut down now my wife gets laid off today from a non-profit that was providing camp experiences for kids with aids, skin disease, Krones, etc.

This country is headed into a shit___ on an exprerss train!

My rant is over. That is all.

Neighbor across the street was just told "Merry Christmas, your last day is the 19th."

Neighbor next door was told, "Merry Christmas, enjoy it while you can. We will let you know if we still need you in January." And that is after 37 years in the same company.

I am so glad I have a job that I will not be losing.

Good luck and God Bless.

Sorry to hear that whiteyj, what kills me is the fact that one of GM's main concerns is the pensions of the laid off workers. When 99% of people who are laid off are having to do without anything. These guys are out of touch in a bad way.

Yeah the only saving grace in all of this is that between severence, vacation, and retention $$, I have about eight months before life gets real interesting. For the second time in my life we are actually thinking, "where would we move to?" Usually needed to follow one job or the other, but the silver lining is there's actually an opportunity to spin the wheel.

Hell cash out the Cali house and cars and buy a cabin in bumble. I would just need to work for gas and Jeep parts!

Sorry to hear about the job losses.
It does suck. I can't sell our place, which is a commercial property and the business that affords the place is going into the toilet slowly but surely. We've lost a ton over the past few years and all we want is out with a fair price on the property. Can't even get a call on the place.

We are headed for the same type thing. Only we would stll have to work for property taxes. Small place in the country, just got to pay the basic bills, worst case is we can even grow or shoot our own food and seriously, I am figuring the food thing out, venison, chicken and a big ass garden. We've got a wood stove and a buck stove and next will be wind or solar power. We've had enough of the rat race, it's a crappy race and the rules sure are not fair.

We just have to hang in till we can unload this place and then I know we'll be in a spot to always get by, even if the economy keeps tanking.

Wow. Sorry to here that. Well I hope you both get even better jobs. I can honestly say I've never really had to worry about getting laid off in any of my previous jobs. I got laid off my first job but I was expecting it when I started(seasonal).

I guess that is one of the reasons I will probably stay in for 20yrs. Job security.
If I get laid off now, we're all in a heep of sh!t.
