Motorcycles......who here rides?

I know we've done this before, but there are some new faces out there. Post your bike(s) and details about them.

I'll start.........

On her trailer back in California before I PCS'd....

Behind the Jeep when the Jeep was nearly stock....

At Lake Silverwood in SoCal. Lots of twisties. There are NO chicken-strips on this bike's tires!!

I have a bunch of other pics, but I'll post them later.

Here are the specs......

2002 Yamaha R1
Graves Stage 2 Cam Kit with titanium springs/high performance cams
Graves Velocity Stacks
Graves Carbon Fiber Ram Air Box
Graves Throttle Slide Stops
DynoJet PowerCommander with CUSTOM map
Yoshimura Full Exhaust
520 Chain Conversion from RRK
15 tooth countershaft sprocket
Michelin Pilot Power Pro super sticky tires
BMC High Performance Air Filter
Front suspension set up by Race-Tech
Rear suspension set up by Race-Tech
On the fly preload adjusters for the front suspension
A TON of small incidentals like carbon fiber sliders, flushmount signals, etc....

No motorcycles. Those are dangerous. I ride quads instead. Much safer. I've only broken two ribs, torn a disc in my back, and now get to have shoulder surgery in the 8 months since I've gotten the thing. Yup. Safe .

I do ride my bicycle to work quite a bit, but wife won't let me get a motorcycle. Something about money and not having any.

1995 Yamaha Virago 535 "S". Scored her with 1600 miles on her, for 2700. Some lady bought it new, rode it a couple hundred miles, and parked it for a few years. College guy bought it, cleaned and synced the carbs, treated the tank, and rode it 1000 miles. Sold it to me for what he had in it, so he could get a GSXR 600.

Good commuting bike. Good mileage, small and light. Ill get a bigger Shadow 1100 or Boulevard next year.

I think I still own a Cossack250. I say think because I left it back in the UK and im not sure if someone sold it. Anyway it was a huge, stupidly heavy Russian bike with a kickstart, an antique by now for sure.
You had to pump the gas primer before starting it and the choke was a metal disk you had to open right up to start the bike then 5 minutes later you had to reach down and slide the choke closed!
It looked alot like this

Sadly to say, I'm a retired rider. Use to tool around in a Honda VFR Inteceptor. Once I got married, I sold it. Once I got kids, momma said "Homie don't ride no more on two wheels."

So I have adapted to 4 wheels. I have an Arctic Cat quad and my Jeep of course. I miss my bike sometimes. Funny thing, in the past 20 years of riding quads, I have rolled them far more times than I have ever dropped my bike. However, sometimes you just need to settle.... I'm waiting for my son to turn 18 and then we go bike shopping.

Rode Crotch rockets for 7 years before I got married.
1st bike was a Katana 750, then I bought a brand new 1992 GSXR 750

Then I got married and had to sale it all.
So I started racing motocross for 8 years, Then we had children. Wife asked me to stop doing that. So I bought my jeep.
Now, with the price of diesel going up, she let me buy another crotch rocket to save some money and wear and tear on my truck
So, I found a smokin deal on a 2001 YZF600 that only had 7000 miles on it.
It had been laid down doing about 5 mph.. I got it for 2000.00
I am going about 3 weeks on a tank of gas 3 1/2 gallons.. right at 200 miles.
so close to 50 mpg running 70mph.. No hot rodding.. Just taking it easy to work and back.

Could not pass this deal up, and I have already been offered 3000 for it.
So now at 40 years old, I am back on a crotch rocket, and I love it.

i can't tell if i like bikes or jeeps better. jeeps the family can do with me, but bikes are just great. when you leave work on a bike, you forget all about it no matter what

black one is 76 fx superglide 4" over front end, s&s carb, cam, balanced, bored, and a lot more, old blue one is 77 fx superglide 6" over front end, and newer blue one was my 2005 sporty.

I bought this bike just a few months ago from a friend of mine. It is a 1997 Triumph Sprint 900. Great bike, it only had 13K on it when I got it. Ride it 2-5 times a week to work. 14 miles each way. Better on gas than my jeep which only gets 14 MPG. Some of the mods...
Carbon fiber tank protector
Micron Carbon fiber exhaust
higher windshield
H4 Headlights
Penske Rear shock
Heli Bars
Corbin Seat
Tuned a bit..sounds ported, but nobody can confirm that.

Soon to have a modified air intake and bobbed rear fender.

Love quads.
Had a 400EX that was bored to 410.
Full FMF Power Core 4 pipe. Dyno injected to run high octane fuel. Works suspension front and rear with lonestar A arms and rear arm. With durablue axle...
The mods just keep on going. Can't remember them all.
But I used to race it and needless to say: it hauled A**.
