Moving from CA to NH

New jeep owner here (2013 Wrangler Sport) moving from Sacramento to Salem, NH.

Currently in the Army Reserves, grew up driving trucks on a ranch in Idaho, but this post isn't intended to introduce myself, I'll take care of that in another thread.

My question is, how worried should I be about Sandy? I've driven from Sac and I'm just outside of Columbus, OH. I could make Salem in two days (one if I really push it). I'm just not sure what the conditions are really like along my three possible routes, north through Buffalo and Albany and then through Mass, or middle through Penn, or south Pitsburgh, New Jersey, New York, Conn and Mass.
I've got the stock ST's for the tires and they've handled snow and rain well so far.

It's crazy trying to follow the weather online. They make it sound like its the end of days...winds, rain, snow, and landsharks!

I'm just trying to get local eyes on, as the saying goes.

Stay away from NJ as I think you'll find most everything shut down as a state of emergency has been declared. Wind is picking up now and heavy rain is looming. No matter which way you head right now your gonna drive into the storm track.

I can wait it out in Columbus for a day or two if it means coming in after the storm blows through. Make it harder to find a place to live before the fifth when I start work, but still doable.

House/apartment hunting ain't happening in a hurricane, and will be difficult in the aftermath.

Guess I'll be sleeping in the jeep in the work parking lot

Which doesn't thrill me as much as I make it sound like it does.

Get your a@$ to NH if you are wanting to make it, Sandy isn't small, I left an island 2 days ago where it was passing almost 200 miles off shore, That island is now under water. Where it makes landfall, it will be BAD

I've made it to Harrisburg PA, and will be spending tomorrow here. I figure I can come up with a route to get me in on Wednesday.
