My first shark, not my last for sure.

Caught this little guy in Mexico Beach, FL. Snap a pic and he gently swam away. (after the dehooking of course)

I'm pretty sure it's either an Atlantic Sharpnose or a Finetooth. I couldn't get it to stay still long enough to really look at the teeth or anything.

I'm not sure. I've been told it was a Dusty Shark, but I won't ever know for sure really.

Judging by the eye, it's a young bull.

Bull sharks can and DO live in fresh water. They can regulate how much salt their body removes allowing them to retain salt and live in fresh water

Btw Bulls are NASTY and smart..

No way, Snout was way too pointed for a Bull. Almost all young Bulls have black tips on their fins.

I've been underwater with literally thousands of sharks in all my years of diving...and all I'm saying is that it looks like a young bull. I'm sending that pic to one of my best friends (marine biologist with NOAA). He'll be able to say for sure what it is...

That sounds good, I'll be able to know for sure then. I wasn't trying to be a d!ck, because like I said I have no idea what kind it is, I just didn't think it looked like a Bull. Honestly, I just think it is really hard to tell some of these young sharks apart, they all have some features that can look the same. Thanks for sending the pic to your friend!

I didn't know that was legal? These AF cops are pretty bored, so if they catch you they will probably taze you.

No there ok There are trails in there you can see them going in on the right.
There is a place you can acually launch a small boat but
you will need 4wd.There also a parking lot and some great fishing here

A little late to the party, but nice catch. If you find yourself round St. Augustine shoot me a PM & maybe we can fish a bit.
