Yeah, well, I make what I'd call a fair amount of scratch at 25 and it doesn't get much better since you buy a house...stop drinking crap liquor...stop eating crap food...etc. Buy a sports car, lol...

The main reason the tjs hangs lower is due to the front axle being low pinion, the front ds angle is greater. Thats also why they switched the front output yoke on the tj to a cv yoke

They are lifted about the same. But I measured the skid from the frame down and it's almost the same length.

Both the yj and tj have stock skids. Or are you talking about the clearance from the skid to the ground?

My jeep buddies round here go from my age to no where near my age. Age is just a number as long as you wheel and can throw back a drink or two, were friends. Lol

Frame to bottom of skid. Trust me stock for stock they're different.. ive been under plenty of tjs and yjs.. maybe his has a tcase drop bracket?

There's a reason tj owners refer to their skid plates as shovels

I have drop washers. His skid is bolted to the frame lol. I'm measuring from the frame to the bottom of the skid and there is no way that there's a 3" difference. Maybe 1" but no more.

We just parked them next to each other and discussed the differences in clearance.

Seriously. Dog parks are the place to go. Single guys buy dogs to meet chicks.

Well 3" may have been an exaggeration on my part but they do hang down considerably more.. look at the lowest point of the skid which is at the front, the skid actually angles forward a bit on the tj.

I dunno. Looking at them the TJ skid is closer to the frame in the front, the slopes down and levels out about halfway. The YJ is pretty much flat.

We will have to take them off and measure them the right way. They don't look too different clearance wise.

We were going up this hill. The YJ got caught about hallways up on its leaf springs. We tried for half an hour and he couldn't get up it... The TJ walked up it the first time, but the second time it took me almost an hour. I got caught in the spot where the YJ kicked up all the rocks.

They are almost equally capable though. The YJ has ATs on it and I have mud tires. The only downfall of the YJ is the sua.
