My neighbor is filling his lawn with toilets - what can I do?

A dunkin donuts developer wanted to re-zone a lot in my neighborhood from low density residential to commercial, to allow a dunkin donuts to go in.

The entire neighborhood opposed this, except, of course, for the guy who's lot was going to be purchased and redeveloped. His house is literally falling apart and he was going to get top dollar for the land. Needless to say, he's pissed.

So he has decided to get back at everyone by filling his yard (which is also the entrance to our neighborhood) with toilets.

Are there any laws against junkyard crap like this? I mean it's just fing ridicules and annoying. It's not hurting anyone, besides anyone trying to sell their property... But you know, i'm looking for a legal way to make it go away.

The story: WGME 13 - News - Augusta man uses toilets to pooh-pooh city

I would go over and have a seat in the morning with pants around the ankles and a newspaper. But I'd have on shorts....

Don't know if it would do any good but it'd be funny as shit..

*I do not advocate theft.

I would guess he is in violation of some kind of city ordinance. Where I live
if your grass gets to high you get a violation, park on the grass violation.
I would not assume people clean those toilets before he gets them maybe a health code violation. You could always disconnect and go do some late night flexing on them, they will break.

Honestly the funniest thing I've seen on here. Sorry man. But I agree with all the people ahead of me. Either that or wrap a cable around em and pull em all into the street, then call the cops sayin your neighbor is making the road impassible for commuters, but your jeep makes it past just fine.

Let the concerned homeowners who blocked the sale of his property chip in and pay him the same price he was going to get, or leave him alone to do with his own property what he wants.

His property, he can do what he wants. You could probably classify that as artwork. If your community by-laws have something in them for this but that usually involves litigation to get the homeowner to comply and most homeowners association don't have the money for that.

My guess it was A lot, most likely corner rather than in the middle of the neighborhood... It was HIS property, you said his house is falling apart bring down property values, then you complain the Dunkin' Donuts moving in bringing down property values, NOW neighborhood's complaining because the toilets potentially bringing down property values... WHEN Will you guys be happy? I've had neighbors like you in everyone else's business but your own.
When you repaint, reshingle, re-landscape...Do YOU ask the neighbors IF they approve as far as property values go??

Rezoning is not the option of the owner. He can still sell it to Dunkin donuts all day long, THEY failed to secure proper zoning for a business, so they do not want it.

....

Think of how rich our kids will be when we harvest all the fish, process all the lumber, excavate all the gooey insides, and butcher all the meat!

At least the toilets are colorful and some have pretty flowers!

Sorry man, that sucks. I wouldn't want to see that coming home everyday. I would kill for a Dunkin Donuts on my corner, though. Love their coffee.

So far, we have people advocating theft, vandalism, trespassing, criminal mischief, use of a firearm to commit a crime, and probably some other stuff I can't think of. Yet, the only post that was quoted for contradiction was the one advising leaving the guy alone to do with his property as he wishes. Way to represent, jeepers!

Well, let's make it two.

In society, we have rules. Among these many rules are zoning regulations. They determine what can be be where. You can apply to have a rezoning, say if you buy a house and want to level it to make room for a coffee shop, and a community board will have a public hearing. Denial of a rezoning application by community outcry is, at the very simplest, democracy at work. It is only logical to allow a community to decide what will be in that community and where. Is it NIMBY? Sure. So what.

My point being, your statement saying his neighbors had blocked his sale was incorrect. His buyer lost interest. Why, oh why, would the residents of his community owe him for not getting rezoned? I can see it now... "pay me neighbors, else this cow field will be Wal~Mart!" Lol.

Dude wanted a huge check for something he did not do... the American Dream... and now he is pissy b/c he didnt get it. Can he stack 1000 toilets? Sure. But he cannot sell one, which is what his beef actually is. So now he wants to bring down the community that didn't want corporatations betting down the door. He needs to quit his bitching and go to work, like an adult.

And I still do not advocate theft.
