National Do Not Call Registry

After chewing out a telemarketers arse for a good 5 mins as to why they shouldent call me three times a day specially in the early morning, he finally gave me a number to call to not be called anymore.

Pretty sad I have to erase my answering machine at least once a week from all the computers and telemarketers calling all day long.

The guy had the nerve to ask me why I didn't want his extended coverage after I chewed him out.

Anyways for those who are plagued by calls here is the Website & Number to add your phone number.

https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

or

1-888-382-1222

He was just doing his job but I finally got tired of all the calls.

Problem is any bank, credit card company, or mortgage company you have ever had contact with can still call you. The registry only stops new folks "cold calling" your number or the computer generated dialers.

The other one is the charities can still call through as well.

Then there are the unscrupulous AH's who still call. I love jacking them up and asking for telephone numbers, names and name of their company as I did register my numbers. Typically met with an immediate hang up.

Yea Its mainly computer generated calls that tick me off, specially the ones who call and hang up as you pick up the phone.

Hopefully me adding my number will stop most of those.

It definitely helps. We saw the volume of calls go down when we registered.

The machines that call are trying to monitor when they best time is to call you. If you pick up that phone at 8am then they know you are at home. I don't pick up the phone unless I recognize it. If it's someone I know they will leave a message and I can call them right back.

ROFL

I just like coming up with really wack stories to chew them out with.

The guy today was speechless, when I got done there was a good ammount of silence "........................um mhm, well I can help you out with that but why dont you want our service? I said "Why would I, now remove me from your list" He just transferred me to a automatic message about the No call list and how to sign up.

It's funny none of my friends ever leave a msg, they just hang up at three rings. Never leave a message.

I already added your number to the list. I also have a big list of how to get the junk mail out of the junk box. Added your address too. =P

One time I saw it was an 800 number calling in. Dead giveaway.

I answered the phone screaming.. HEEELLLLPP THEY'RE KILLLINNNG MEEE!!!

I'm not exactly sure when they hung up but I didn't have to talk to them.
