Exclamation Navy Veteran Looking for Work

I am leaving the Navy after 20 years of honorable service. Now I am looking for my next career.

I spent 20 years as an Aviation Structural Mechanic which includes sheet metal, composite materials, basic and computer controlled hydraulic systems. The other major areas of expertise are Occupational Health & Safety, Instructor of technical training to include hands on laboratory work, Hazardous Material Management and distribution, and Law Enforcement / Physical Security.

I am willing to relocate for the right position. I am currently in Norfolk, V. I would like to move to 1. California, 2. Hawaii, 3. Florida, 4. Arizona, or 5. Texas.

Ready to Start work on September 25th. I will have to be in Norfolk from October 20th to November 5th, after that I am 100% available.

My first training officer in law enforcement was a retired master chief. It gave me a whole new understanding of swearing like sailor! Anyhow, law enforcement in Texas is hiring just about across the state. Usually not the highest paying jobs but at least somewhat stable. Military vets get extra points on exam for civil service departments and there are 254 sheriff offices in the state. Go to www.tcleose.state.tx.us and search for listings on the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement home page. FYI: it's usually a 90 day hiring process in most departments. Make some copies of your DD-214.
