New Laptop!

Yah! I finally got me one. I got it directly thought HP.com and paid less than half of the full $1000 price... thanks to coupons!

It's a Dv7t with a 17" (1600x900) screen, P7450 CPU, 3GB ram, 320GB HDD. It's a great desktop replacement which is what it is doing.

PICS!
That is my 19" LCD behind it.

SHINY!

If you can wait, HP runs different promotions weekly. I kept checking out logicbuy.com for coupon codes, and got one for 30% off.

Same here... the company I do contract work for set me up with a couple of HP laptops for secure VPN connections to work from. They are no where as nice as the one you just got though. But they are extremely reliable and just plain work great.

I don't really do the PC games much either. But when I got my first PC (tandy 1000 in 1985!) I got into games alot. Was mostly Sierra games like the old Kings Quest series and Space Quest games. More recently I was into Half Life (original and 2) on my old desktop but that crashed along time ago. With my new personal laptop I knew I had to get at least a couple of games so I picked up Crysis and Sim3. lol. Haven't played Sims yet but Crysis is really good. I think it's coming out on the PS3 later.

What do you use the laptop for mostly? Work, school, jeep forums?

I listen to music (have external speakers) brows the web, chat, lots of forum use, photo editing. Just general multimedia stuff. So far this thing had performed greatly!

nice laptop, I like the design on the front. Something different from my plain gray laptop.
