How many can relate to this?
We took a short trip to Lake Geneva this weekend (in-laws) Daughter and I were staying the night to do the Elkhorn flea market with all the girls, boys were going home on the same night.
I rode with hubby in the truck and I nervously handed over my rubi key to my big kid and all the kids went up in my jeep. Now years ago it would have been a race, kid got a head start, we caught up (and no, we weren't haulin ass, hubby drives like an old lady) however, kid drives like a bigger old lady. We caught up at a stop sign, right away I scowled at hubby cause I thought he was kinda egging him on at the line but nope, kid hung back, way back.
I called it right, it's no longer who can get to a destination the fastest, it's who can get the best MPG's! He hit 18.5 and was braggin as I haven't hit it yet.
I didn't burst his bubble though, I had just done my first oil change, engine is still breaking in and the following day I finally hit 19.
It seems to be the way things are going.....while 4 bucks and rising a gallon for gas isn't funny, I did get a chuckle out of the situation. I was also so pleased with the kid, especially since it was my jeep and my gas, that he didn't womp on it and drove Mom's new ride with caution and respect.
He did leave via the yard and drove it down the berm with a ha ha, I got him off road before you did! LOL!
